Places to get stuff for Vancouverians

No phone number. Just a mailing address you can find at the site. If you have questions, you can email them, they are pretty good at responding.

BTW, did everyone see that they are carrying Lake Country pads and backing plates? $21 for the BP and $12 for the pads. Pretty good prices. Looks like my mail order days for pads are over!

Yeah, I've been emailing them recently because I am in the market to purchase a PC. They plan to start selling them at the end of next week at @$199. I just have to see how much their shipping is because I'm getting a great quote from Detailers Paradise also it doesn't hurt their LC pads are on sale.

Yes I am in the lower mainland. Besides carcaresmart.com, do you guys know of any other places to get a PC at decent prices? I really need to start my spring detail. The weather has been good!

I think 4DSC mentioned Summit Tools. Might want to give them a call.

I got mine at Canadian Tire for $179 last year when they had a sale. Regular price is $227 I think.

Anyone know where I can get Megs Detailers line locally?? Which body/paint shop has it?? I want to get FD and APC+ locally so I can save shipping $$ (2 gallons of liquid is very heavy  )

Hey,

Meguiar's Final Detail and APC+ are not available in Canada at this time. Hopefully in the future, that will change.

Go to the Meguiars Canada website and email the rep for a local body shop that carries the Meguiars line, thats how I'm getting my DACP and SFP...Final Detail is listed on the website, so you should be able to purchase it.

I am afraid not. Meguiar's Canada carries Final Inspection M-3416 and not Final Detail D-5101 which is a different product and only available in 1 gallon and larger sizes.

I wouldn't hold my breath. Remember that Canada isn't a very big market at all compared to the US, and that things are only available if they think there's going to be a healthy market for it.

If you really want it that bad then order it from the US. If not I would just look for alternatives.

I don't know how much experience some of you have with multiple and different products, but you might find you have trouble telling much difference between products with such subtle differences like FD. Personally I think that people should start off with something, anything, "good" and then branch out once they get a good feel for things. I think it's easier, simpler, and sometimes cheaper too. Just IMHO....

Hey,

I was talking with Mike Phillips last night and he said that the Detailer Line that is avavilable in Canada is made by another company, possibly a Canadian company, for Meguiar's Canada. It does not come out of Meguiar's Tenn. plant.

Meguiar's Final Detail would be worth the hassle of ordering out of the US. I have and use this product all the time and love it!!

So pretty much it's different from the stuff we're talking right now??

Ok. If I couldn't get it locally I have to order it online. I'll order it from Premium Auto Care if I really am ordering it from the states because I can get a 10% discount. If I only order FD and APC+ (which are the only thing I need) how much do you think shipping will cost?? Both the products aren't that expensive but what I'm worrying about is the shipping cost.

Probably Dominion Sure Seal in Toronto.... they make tons of chemicals.

I bought some Meguiar's APC (not +) here in Ontario and it is clearly marked "made in Canada". When I talked to Meguiars Canada they told me the Detailer Line was made for them. It could very well be that DSS who have the Canadian Distributorship for Megs has the right to make the Canadian "Detailer's Line".

Obviously I feel the same as everyone else here that I'd like to be able to get all the same products as are available in the US.
