Pinstripe removal

What's the best way to do it? I worked at a body shop years ago and remember using a hard rubber wheel on an air tool. Are there other ways that are better?

I'd advise against the "wheel" just because it CAN burn the paint. But if you know how to use the wheel safely, then this post does not concern you. The best way to remove pinstripe safely is to use a heat gun or park the car in the hot sun. It will soften the adhesive and usually allows the stripe to come off. Sometimes, the stripe is just so old and spent most of it's life unprotected in the sun that you may have to pick at it for a while. That's why vinyl belongs on your house, not on your car.
