Pinnacle XMT Series Polishing Pad Cleaner
This is a spray cleaner for polishing/buffing pads that is supposed to make cleaning the pads easier by breaking down waxes, silicones, sealants, oils, grime, ect....
Directions: Spray used pads generously with XMT Polishing Pad Cleaner. Agitate with a brush if necessary. Rinse the pads in clean, running water. Allow the pads to air dry completely before using htem again. Let the cleaner soak into severely caked pads for several seconds before rinsing
Lets get started....
The produce and its first test pad, and Edge yellow cutting pad that had not been washing in several years!!! The pad also was last used on a red single stage paint. I figured lets throw the worst pad I had at it.
I liberaly sprayed the pad with Polishing Pad Cleaner until it was wet to touch. I then used a tooth brush to lighty agitate the surface. Immediately the toothbrush turned red and the caked paint worked loose...
Then I rinised using warm water. I was amazed at how the old caked product and paint just flowed out of the pad. I usually soak my pads in dawn then rinse and rinse and rinse and rinse, squeeze and rinse and rinse, ect... It is very hard to wash dawn out of the pads. With Pinnacle's XMT Polishing Pad Cleaner the product rinsed out effortlessly and clean in seconds. Total time spent on this pad was less then a minute.
The results...
How about the blue edge pad....
Before...
After...(the dark areas are water still in the pad after rinsing)
A couple of my CCS pads needed to be cleaned...
I did an experiment on half of the 7.25 Orange Lack Country CCS pad. I sprayed the cleaner on to half of it and lightly agitated the surface, then I rinshed the whole pad for about 10 seconds....
Guess which side got the cleaner
After washing all the pads (in record time) I spun them up to about 2500 on the rotary to dry them off. The blue Edge pad split right in half
All in all this product did an amazing job of cleaning the pads out and rinsing out very cleanly. The product did as it claimed, loosened the caked on products and paint in the pad and rinsed them out very clean.
Two thumbs up, IMO.
The pads came out awesome...
