Pink Wax - 2 Questions

Why 216 over 2180?

for variety. 216 is very glossy and reflective. Works for both light and dark colors, just like PW. For max protection that is if you don't rewax often - always 2180 or 1000.

9mo+ by now. I don't think I would call mine "moist" but i guess if I ran my finger over it it would come out moistish... ... well, I'll let a pic tell the story:

Thanks for telling me if this is what yours looks like, because I'm about to order some more FK products and I'm wondering if I should just chuck this PW away (anyone in Boston/Lexington want it?) and get a new one?

My can of 1000P looks the same except for the pink color.... It works just fine. I did email FK about the dryness and they said it is not uncommon and everything should work as it was intended.

Yes chuck it by sending it to me. Order a new can. :D

Have not used my PW yet, but CMW is a very easy product to use, wipes off like dust. CMW leaves a very nice deep/wet look.

With the solvent smell does the new application just replace the old application? That is some strong stuff!

It is what wax used to smell like before manufacturers started making wax that smelled like boat drinks.

I like it!

I got a sample and didn't have any problems putting it over UPP, but it really didn't seem to add a whole lot. I even did a second coat a week later if I remember right.

I agree. It is a great wax but when used on top of such a nice sealent like UPP it really doesn't add a whole lot to the look. Maybe it's better used on top a glaze. JMO

I think the problem with storing FK pink is the can itself. I noticed the lid did not fit well after the first time I opened it. I used a piece of clear plastic wrap to help the seal under the lid. Mine is still on the damp, mushy side. When my jar of P21S is empty, I will transfer it. I've always hated cans because old product can often be ruined by rust that forms in the can.

does the Pink Wax have any anti-static additives?

I added a layer of s100 to my paint which had Klasse SG/FX100 and 425.

Before the S100 my paint was dust free...totally.

After teh S100 dust accumulated within an hour.

Wiped it down with spring water and put 425 over the S100. Car was dust free again.
