Pink Wax - 2 Questions

For those of you who have used PINK WAX from Finish Kare I was wondering . . .

1 - Have you used Pink Wax as the only top coat, or have you used it as a topper over other waxes or sealants? and.....

2 - Can Pink wax be layered, say 2 or 3 coats?

Thanks !

I got a sample and didn't have any problems putting it over UPP, but it really didn't seem to add a whole lot. I even did a second coat a week later if I remember right.

With FK1, all you have to do is wait only 20 minutes before layering.

here is their #2180 sealant topped with 3 layers of PW.

I find Pink Wax to be a high quality paste wax offering the best of both worlds.........looks & durability. It's quite functional where as it can be layered or used as a topper over sealants or other nubas. For myself, I either use multiple coats of it or top a layer with Souveran or Natty's Blue. ( stunning combos, I might add ) About 3 weeks ago, I applied a layer of FX-100 then topped with a layer of Pink Wax. QD'd with #425 between & after. I was amazed at the finish it provided on my black sand pearl paint. Rich depth & wetness! It's rained alot here in West Texas over that 3 week period of time & the FK combo is holding up extremely well. I'm very impressed with FX-100/Pink Wax/#425. Terrific products.

Echoing BlkTac05's comments, Pink Wax offers great looks and durability. Most waxes, its either or.

I have used it as a stand alone and topper over other waxes/sealants. I prefer to use it over at least one layer of a high quality sealant (Zaino or 2180) so that that rock hard polymer protection is there.

It beads great, looks great, lasts a while, keeps the surface relatively clean between washes, applies/removes easily, and it's cost efficient. Currently, it sits at the top of my carnauba arsenal.

I'm looking to make my red MINI Cooper S look really wet and really reflective, would the Souveran and PW be the way to go or would something else be more up my ally? Also where do u get Souveran and PW?

I'd say to get #216 and PW from www.fk1usa.com.

You will be amazed.

ChiliCooperS - Having used Pink Wax for a few months now (since posting my question) I can say that it is an excellent wax. I second what everyone has said about PW. VERY reflective and is perfect for red cars such as yours and mine. :xyxthumbs

I love the fact that it's very easy to apply and remove. However, the smell is pretty strong. You don't want to be using this stuff in a small, enclosed garage.

I'd say the diff between Souveran and PW is this: Souveran has a slightly "warmer" look. PW is bright and clear. I use both products and like them equally. Just diff looks.

When you compare price then the PW is the winner, hands down. :getdown

How does Pink Wax compare to CMW, which is known to be a very good wax for dark colors and reds and has about a month's worth of durability from what I understand?

I also bought the PW craze last year for my new red car, and I love it. To answer the OP, I've applied multiple coats of PW with great success! :woohoo:

Now, a question to everyone here with pink wax: is the product in the can supposed to be dryish or liquidy? Mine is now solidish; like eye makeup... I can't remember if it was liquidy or is mine drying out?

eddieg.....sounds like it's drying out. How long have you had it ?

I've had a can of PW for at least 6 months and it still has a slightly moist consistancy. I can swipe a yellow foam pad a few times on the tub of the PW and it comes out slighly wet.

PS: great looking car. love the color.

pennypacker.............

to answer your question, from my experience, I'd say the PW has a brighter and wetter look. Like with many comparos of LSPs the differences are not great but noticeable.

I think this is the case with PW vs. CMW.

9mo+ by now. I don't think I would call mine "moist" but i guess if I ran my finger over it it would come out moistish... ... well, I'll let a pic tell the story:

Thanks for telling me if this is what yours looks like, because I'm about to order some more FK products and I'm wondering if I should just chuck this PW away (anyone in Boston/Lexington want it?) and get a new one?

SWEET RIDE! A guy parked next to me at the movies last night with what seemed to be that same car except it was silver, Altima SE R? Coolness... :2thumbs:

That's the one ChiliCooperS.. coolness to yours too, I'm dying to get a mini as my #2 car! I must say, the Altima SE-R is all about the red we're talking about waxin' here; it's the 350Z red, and exclusive to the SE-R altima. That silver you saw, meh, any other Altima can have it...
