It's a HKS rear section.

Looks good on the civic :up

Scottabir,

The exhaust sounds awesome. It is just a rear section so I still have my stock mid pipe and stock silencer. You will love the sound of the HKS on your ride, if they make one. I highly suggest them. The build quality seems excellent as well. :up :up You can hear it on some cars here http://www.hksusa.com/products/?id=715&rsku=

Does not look like they make one for you though. If they don't I would recommend Greddy or Apexi to try next.

I was bummed, I have been looking around for an HKS and to no avail for my car :(. I haven't heard anything about the apexi exhausts, I will have to look them up.

Yeah, for sure look into Apexi. http://www.apexi-usa.com/exhausts_n1.asp

It appears they don't make anything for your ride either! I am using the Apexi cone air filter which I recommend you do as wel if you get a cold air intake like you talked about.

Grrr I was just looking at apexi-usa too...I might as well just go out and buy and rx-7 or the rx-8 which the wife wants:D

it would be easier than trying to find parts for my car. I suppose I will have to check out magnaflow more indepth.

Will the Protege' exhaust fit your car? Looks like Mazdaspeed might make something fro yours. Also, watch out for Magnaflow. That is what I just got rid of on my Civic. It sounded nice but their exhaust slide together and use the cheesy clamps rather than nice bolt togethers and gaskets, and mine (and other 7th gen Civi owners) fit like total crap. The piping was nowhere close to fitting in the channel under the car and it hit the underside of my car all the time.

I will have to check on some mazda 6 forums to see if the protege will fit on there. Even if I have to weld something up it would be no problem, the welder at work owes me a favor :D

I remember you saying that about the magnaflow and I wanted to stay clear of it if I could.

Is yours dual exhaust?

Do you have a stock resonator in the mid pipe?

ok there is a ypipe that splits to the two mufflers.

It looks like the only catback ssytems are from magnaflow and draxas. I will probably try out the draxas catback and see how that sounds. If worst comes to worst I will have to just get an axel back system for sound. If I have to I can custom make the tubing from the the cat back to the mufflers(will give me something to do while the machine are running at work.)

You do know that the Draxas kit uses Magnaflow mufflers right? If I were you and had them two choices I might just go with the Magnaflow cat back. I am sure that the fiment will be better on your ride cause I only hear of bad fitment issues withthe 7thgen Civics. But i don't know anyone else with a Magnaflow so who knows. Let me do some research on xceedspeed and a few other sites for you and see what people say. Exhaust is always somethign you want to research a lot cause you want good performance without sounding like a wet fart all over town. LOL

Yeah I just read that they use the magnaflow muffler. I really dont want it to sound like a "wet fart" :rofl

I have seen other 6 owners with the magnaflow setup and I haven't any complaints. I really would be pi$$ed off if it didnt fit good and I had to do major mods to get a "bolt-on" system to work correctly.

Out of them two choices I would for sure pic Magnaflow. I posted on xceedspeed.com so we shall see if anyone recommends anything. And I thought my 2001 Civic was hard to find parts for!

I'm running an Apexi N1 Dual catback and I love it. Deep, low rumble and none of that farting bumblebee noise, but AFAIK it's only available for the 240SX and RX-7. I believe Apexi makes universal, weld on canisters with 90mm tips (the size of mine) or 115mm tips.

Looks great too man!:xyxthumbs

Having one myself, I'll answer. It doesn't sound like a weedeater at all. It sounds deep and rumbly. Very unlike the cheap Flowmaster's that you can pick up for a little of nothing.

Wow i bet you have 150 horse now.Does it sound like a pissed off weedeater?

Gotta love the noobs looking for trouble huh?

Well, to clear things up...I never said I was smoking V8's all day and no, it does not sound like a weedeater, it has a nice quiet rumble to it.
