In the market for a new truck because the bronco II has died :(. Looked at a nice truck tonight but the guy had a dog that was in the truck a lot and it smells really bad in there. Just wondering if you have had any success with getting this smell out. I do not want to mask it just get it out completely. Thanks for the advice and suggestions. :bigups

My son uses "Stinky-be-gone"... or something like that. It looks like a flat sheet of rocks or something to me, but seems to work.

We tried some of the Meguiar's Odor eliminator, and smelled worse than the pet smell. :rofl

Is it just the dog smell or is it a urine smell?

This is a friend's website. We use the enzyme cleaner around our house with outstanding results on urine smells. He has a product for general pet odor removal also.
If you contact him, tell him Squirtgun "HI".

Yea its just the doggy smell. Thanks for the link. I just wanted to know if there was a way to get rid of it because i did not want to be driving around in that smell lol.

I've seen tons of cars with these types of smells at the car dealership where I work. The key I find is whatever you are using don't saturate the carpets to all hell in one shot. If you have to go over them lightly 3-4 times with your choice product, letting it dry almost completely between applications. After that the key is to keep the windows open as much as possible until the smell is gone. This could take a week. Any industrial enzyme cleaner works well especially with an extractor. Where I work we use PRO Xtract Power and Odor Nox. They can be found at prowax.com

Back in '98 I bought a used cer from from a dealer which had this putrid rotten milk or rotted baby formula smell. Since I was paying CASH for the car, one of my terms written into our agreement was "Dealer to remove the putrid milk smell at dealers expense and if not dealer provide a full refund of vehicle sale." I was sceptial, but went along with it (up until that point I had never been able to rid this type of smell from an interior). They did an Ozone Generation and to my surprise, the smell was completly gone and never returned. The same process was used to rid a friends apartment of tobacco smoke oder. Might be worth looking into if this is the only stumbling block for a good priced vehicle.

he bought a new f150 truck..issue is over :surrender

I must be paying him too much :lol2:
