I lost my Zaino virginity on my wifes car about 6 months ago. I have since added an additional 2 layers and I love the shine and clarity. I do not think that Zaino altered the color in anyway. I haven't put another layer on in about 3 months, and the rain beads and sheets like crazy, and the paint still looks great.
Although I prefer Zaino on silver, I think the very best silver pics I've ever seen are of JasonC8301's Klasse'd BMW 323ci. Jason, perhaps you can put us all in awe once again with those great pics you have.
Dean, I had the Xpel installed north of Atlanta. He only charged me like $70 labor so I figure I'd better let him do it for that price. The kit was $230 so the total was $300. I watched the installer do it and I'm glad that I let him do it.
I'm pretty happy with it. Before I got the zaino on, bugs would leave brown/orange stains after I washed the car. It didn't matter if it was 1 day or 3. The stains would fade away in a day or two. Some poeple like the stoneguard better, the stoneguard kits have better coverage. Its does cost more than the Xpel.
My brother is picking up a 01 X5 4.4 silver this w/e down here. So we will zaino it and drive it up to Ohio sat nite. I've got him setup to get the stoneguard kit installed up their for about $500 total. Some installer had a full kit advertised on a board for $200 new. It lists for $400. $250 to install it and $50 for the Xpel headlite kit. The guy said it will take him about 5 hours to do it.
Some Z06 guys in WA are going right to the Stoneguard H/Q and getting the full treatment for about $1000 or so. They are very happy with it as well.
A good friend of mine is flirting with the idea of buying a Z06. He previously owned a 98 vette and we had some fun with it. I must admit I am even more excited that he is to drive it.
I am thinking about buying the xpel for my Black 01 Mustang GT, I was thinking of attempting to apply it myself, but I will probably go your route. I drive the car 120 miles day, and I know that I will accumulate quite a few stone chips if I dont take some action now !
I've used Klasse on my S4 for the past two months and after 3 coats, am not completely satisfied, just seems too understated. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge Klasse fan, but only for darker colors where it's understated, rich shine supplements those colors well. For my s4, though, Zaino will be the one!
For the first time ever i zainoed my new silver GTI on Sunday : Dawn, clay, Z-7, Z-2/6x3, it looks and feels incredible! So smooth, so slick, so glossy. The whole process was so much easier than I thought it would be. The whole Z-numbering thing was a little intimidating at first, but pretty easy once you've gone through the sequence.
Anyways, thank you all for your input and tips, this forum is awesome!
I'll try to get some pictures going when the weather complies.....
chaz,
Joe

...oh one more thing: anyone experienced with aquapel? I will receive a shipment this week and am curious how to best work with it. As I Z-2'd the side and rearwindows, do I need to take the Z-2 off before applying aquapel? What is the proper prepping procedure?
I would not strip it yet. Aquapel might work well on windows. Perhaps just use it on your front windshield. I feel that zaino on windows not only makes them really easy to maintain but adds a shine and reflectivity to them that REALLY adds to the detailed look of the car. So if anything I would keep the zaino on the sides and rear and just aquapel the front..........
If the aquapel tube is only for one app of the windshield I would save it just for that purpose and apply Z2 to the sides as DK said...I just happen to find STP really cheap so I wanted to see how it would work on all of them.

<strong class='bbc'>Joe yes you will want to remove all waxes, polymers dirt and other junk on the glass first..
GO to product review section there is a lengthy review of aquapel and the STP version of it as well.
Glad you are happy with the looks of your car!! [/b]</blockquote>
Is tthere an elegant way to remove wax on the window without removing on the rest of the body? What products do you use?
