Pearlescent needs pop...

I have tried so many things and combos on my fiance's minvan. It is a black with pearls of blues and reds, etc in it. Very cool color actually. However, I just can't get this thing to pop and make those pearls jump out! I have tons of great products, haven;t had time to try them all, but what I remember...AIO, EX-P, Nat Blue seemed to look the best, but the pearls were a little buried. VM and different caranubas, also RMG and various nubas. I am thinking using a nuba aslsp might be dulling the pearls, whatta ya think?

Mayeb make some suggestions, specific or braod, I'll tak eit all into considertaion. We are leaving in a few weeks for our wedding (at Graceland!) and I wanna make it look it's best, so I'll strip it and begin once again right before we leave.

I do have some Wolfgang products coming, heard they are great for flake, but what abotu pearls?

Some products I have that come to mind as I write:

UPP

AIO, SG

Poorboy: EX, EXP, Natty, Natty Blue, QW, etc

DP spray surface shield, Max Wax

Liquid Souveran, Crystal Mist

Abotu all the Wolf stuff will be here in a day or so...

Pink Wax, Hi Temp wax, S100,#26, various other nubas

Glazes: VM, RMG,3m Filln glaze, Megs #5, #7, Crystal Wet

Thanks for the help!

Seems like most of the products you're using are either top coats or light polishing glaze type products. Maybe you need to clay first and then try a true polish to deep clean the paint. Once that's done, then a coating of RMG followed by one of your top coats should give it some real depth and wetness and give it that pop you're looking for. For a local product I would suggest Megs Swirl Free Polish or one of my favorites, Megs #80.

Oh, I have clayed and polished. Now when I try stuff I just strip with ISO mix and start a new mixture. RMG really covered up the sparkle on this ride, I won't use it on it again.

What polish have you used? It surprises me that RMG muted the sparkle as I have had really good success with it.

Opt and Menz FP. don't get me wrong, the RMg really made it look wet, but for some reason the sparlkes are getting buried. I am thinking just go for sealants and see where that takes it.

I have done a bunch of pearls lately and this is what I use. Menzerna 106ff final polish first. I smooths out the paint and adds the best gloss than anything I have ever tried. After that I put on a coat of fk1's fx217 glaze and sealant. That locks in the shine and adds extreme wetness to it. Then a coat of pink wax or natty's. Your jaw will drop for sure!!!

For metallic "pop," I reach for Zaino Z2 Pro or AIO/Pinnacle Signature Series.

I've also heard that Werkstatt AJ and UPP are good for metallics (I have both, but haven't used them on metallic yet).

Zane, I heard the Wolf I have coming might be better for darker than the UPP. Guess I'll see soon enough.

Keep ideas comign everyone, I chew it up and see what comes out in the end!
