If the turtle wax crowd is giving her a hard time about the cost, you should offer to mail her some before and afters. She could then compare her finish with the other vehicle. It may even drum up real customers if they were more educated.

I admire your work on that SUV, and $120 is a rather cheap price. I understand your frustration with trying to justify your price to people. At the same time its sort of a blessing in disguise because when they decide to pay that much, they are extremely hard to please. I've had this happen with my relatives of all people. The good in it is that it makes it easier for you to decide whether to take that person as a customer or not, because at the end of the day, even though you need the work, it's better not to take on people who will just give you a hard time.

Just keep at it. Sometimes it takes times to find the right people to detail for.
BTW how long did it take you?
In my case $120 = 2 hours and 20 minutes.

well she doesn't give me a hard time whatsoever, most the time im prepared for people to choke when i mention price in which case im immediately prepared to just walk away. i have a decent handful of very regular customers who really have no idea what i am doing to thier vehicles but they just love the way the job looks, i understand even in large areas theres a small % of these people. im just curious if ive actually obtained every one in mine already.
