PC rotating or just jigging?

The pad seems not to rotate as much as I though but just jiggle.

This is more noticable when I fit the MF bonnet to the orange pad. Is it it on some kind of clutch system so that increased pressure on the surface slows the spinning?

Maybe I've broken it somehow. Theoretically, I could have the PC running, hold the pad still and it would just jiggle. Surely that can't be right?

Also, the pad spins freely when the PC is not switched on.

I have the same problem - stopped using MF bonnets because of it. I guess it's working as it should be though. Could do with some pro advice here.

Yes increased pressure on the pad will cause the pad to spin slower. Put a black mark on the side of your pad. You'll quickly notice that with light pressure, the pad spins very slowly.

What you're describing is perfectly normal for the PC (and why some of us prefer the Cyclo ;) ). With any appreciable load, the PC quits doing the "dual action" thing and merely "jiggles". This will compromise it's effectiveness a bit with foam pads, but not really with the MF bonnets. I used MF bonnets on mine yesterday and it did the same thing, but they still took the product off just fine.

Since this "jiggling" thing *will* compromise the effectiveness when polishing, for any serious correction I use 4" pads. It doesn't just jiggle with the smaller pads.

PHEW!! What a relief!

Thanks guys. I though I'd done my usual trick and busted it before even getting to use it! :)
