PC pad noob question

Eye Have You
Hi everybody,

I've been using this website for a while now, mainly reading reviews and picking up some tips and tricks here and there. I've been detailing my cars for a while, but have never stepped up to a polisher. However after picking up a bottle of Menzerna acrylic jacket I don't feel as if i'm using it to it's full potential.:(

So, i'm in the market now for a PC 7424XP, but i have a couple of questions about pads. I get the jist of the different colors and cut, but i'm wondering about which pads to buy. I see most people use either LC CCS pads or straight up flat pads, but i'm wondering if anybody has any experience with the Chemical Guy's Hex-Logic pads?

Would these be good pads for a beginner to learn with? I'm limited on funds, so I don't want to be buying all sorts of different pads, I would prefer to just buy a kit that comes with what I need to start out with and will hold me over for a year or so.

There's so many pads out there: Cobra cross groove, LC CCS, Kompressor, Edge 2K, hex-logic, 4* (which seem to be non-existent now?)....needless to say, i need some help (or a good push) towards what pads to get :inspector:

Thanks for any help and thanks for the great website with tons of great info :yourrock

Me and steve over at poorboys have tried a TON of pads lol and we like the LC line. Well other than the kompressor ones lol. Very good quality will last ya a long time and they are avalible at a lot of places

Thanks Pockets. would you say the kompressor are easy to learn with? They look really different from the rest of the pads

I got some chemical guys MPT pads and I placed an order at detail city for some LC CCS pads and a Purple Foamed Wool pad.

Thanks for the tips Troy :rockon

On a side note, i've heard a couple of good things about the hex-logic pads and I think I might place an order for them sometime in the future.
