PC Pad Maintenance

Hey Max, have you ever tried the Sonus Der Wunder Wasche? I'm thinking of buying it along with Dawn to test and compare the results of these two products myself.

I would be very interested in the results of this test ... as well as your perception of how difficult it is/isn't to rinse the pads clean.

I've been using Sonus Micro Fiber cleaner strickly for my polishing pads for a while now. So far I haven't found anything that cleans them as well and I've tried Dawn, APC+, Murthy's oil and a couple of others. I let the pads soak, face down in a mixture of hot water and Sonus for a couple of hours and them raise with cold water. Finally squeeze them try between a couple of micro fiber towels.

You've tried just about everything I had in my stack of stuff to experiment with.

Are you talking about Sonus' der Wunder Wasche? If so, how much do you use per (gallon? bucket?) when you mix your cleaning solution? (I was hoping to find something that worked well, but was pretty inexpensive.)

Can you cover the solution and use it again the following weekend, or do you mix a fresh batch each time?

Thank you.

rayvenn, yes, I am talking about Sonus' der Wunder Wasche. I use about a half oz in something I found that looks like a flat kittle liter pan mixed with about 1 gallon of hot water. I let the pad soak for a couple of hours. Then dry them as I said above. I usually mix up a new mixture every time I need to clean some pads, never tried saving it for next time. For micro fiber towels I actually like the Pennacle wash better but for the polishing pads the Sonus works wonders.
