PC demonstration - UK

Well you've got the weather for it; it's a gorgeous day up North anyway! Shame I am stuck inside working on my dissertation :(

Maybe start a new thread in the Hot Tub for the pics?

Well just got back, I know I left hours ( 5.30!) ago Andy but as I finished the running in process on the way home I kind of went home the scenic .......and very long way!!!!

Weather was great, was good to meet you all at last.

Big thanks to Andy for having us visit him and let us lose with all his toys, thanks to him and Louise for there Hospitality, tea, and burgers! Much appreciated.

Thanks to Paul for being brave and letting us lose o his Golf and Dave for bringing along the Matika to compare to the PC.

Yes I want one!!!! Was great to try one out before you buy, great bit off kit.

Cheers for the samples Andy, let us know how you get on with those bits too.

Top day thanks again. Nice to see your 205 at last to, very nice pics to follow.

I have a few pics post them in here or a new thread?

Cheers

Rich

I'd like to say thanks too! Especially to Andy for putting this together, even though I already have the PC and the Makita, it was good to see someone else actually using one and especially good to see some new (to me) products.

Good to meet Rich and Paul as well - nice to put some faces to names. Just wish I could have stayed a bit longer. And curse you for making sure that the bug is well and truly back!

Look forward to seeing the pics and I would appreciate Andy if you could summarise the products that you showed us, including the towels that you found good (and where to get them). Sorry to ask but my memory isn't that good - must be age!

Now I have a bit more confidence and yes, I am thinking of trying to get some paying work - need to raise the funds somehow for all the new toys I want!

Hope it went well chaps..... Unfortunately had to put decorating first yesterday (Don't worry, will get my priorities back in order asap! ;)).

Lets see some pics, and well done to Andy for sorting the day out... Will definately get the Skybarge out for the next gathering!

Cheers :).

Great to meet everyone yesterday. I hope it was useful and not too longwinded for you.

Big thanks to Paul for letting us all loose on his car too!

I think Paul & Rich took some pics so I'll just write up products used.

First off, products

SSR (Super Swirl Remover) 2, 2.5 & 3

Clearkote RMG (Red achine Glaze)

Meguiars pads - beige (sofe, for final glazing/waxing), yellow (medium, general purpose polishing) and purple (hard for cutting)

Lake Country pads - white approx same as Megs yellow

Flexible backing plate for PC

The Lake pads and backing plate came from autopia, everything else from Alex @ SP

I think the overall reaction from Rich and Paul was the ease of use of the PC - lighter and easier to control than expected. I suspect autopia will be geeting 2 more orders quite soon!

We tried various products, starting with SSR2 on a yellow pad and gradually working through to SSR3 on a cutting pad, which we all thought rmoved the most swirling and left a very reflective surface.

The RMG added a lot of gloss but TBH I'm going to play around with all of the new CK products as jury's still out on the Blue Moose & Compound - when we tried Blue Moose after SSR2.5 it seemed very oily and left a lot of hazing on the panel.

This was a good chance to meet a few of the UK autopians and paved the way for a summer meet for sure. Can people PM me with ideas please as summer's only a few months away!

I will sort the pics after I have washed all the flys off the car!! 300 miles worth!

Just to add to Andys Comments.

I was suprised witht the weight and ease of control, and how thin it lays products down, and how it works polishes away to nothing.

I know what I am doing now when I do get one.

I thought the RMG was great when I got to try it, very nice product.

Some Pics.

Clio 182 and a mint 205, hot hatch heaven! Nice pics BTW; good to see that the first sign of sun brings out mad Englishmen in their shorts lol

Peter When* I order mine you welcome to pop over and have a go.

(* its going to have to happen now!)

Makita performed very alike. It was a little heavier than the PC.

Andy C is in the light blue T shirt.

Paul (nogrille) in the grey T shirt

Dave (butchdave) is the guy on the Makita in the polo shirt.

I escaped te camera !

rich, i love the shots of the clio. drooling as we speak. lol

glad it turned out to be a good day guys.

Guess I can add the trim restorer to my list now. Thanks Rich! lol

Thanks Paul.

The Poorboys Natural look is very nice. Was suprised how thick it was but is a good alternative to 1Z Cockpit Premium, hink that will be my weekely wipe down choice and some Natural Look for a deeper clean.

No problem lol......At least it will be cheaper then the Souveran Andy needs to buy :D :p

Unfortunaltey I have to link to the pics.

Great day - thanks to Andy for the demo and his Mrs for the tea!

That right hand panel of the bonnet looks and feels SO good! I'll add comments on products used to the pics when I've gone through Andy's list.

Good to meet Rich and Dave too - Rich that Clio is gorgeous - Dave thanks for bringing the Matika (would have been good to use the purple megs pad and Poorboys 3 over that panel too if we had time).

The beetle I was helping out on in the afternoon looked fantastic when we finished then wouldn't run properly on Sunday for the show  which is a real shame. Took the golf in the end which got a sand bath in the car park. Going to rinse off today and see how good that carlack really is........

Thanks again!

Paul
