PC bogs down with slightest pressure on pad

That is just crap! Have your friend show us proof. Stores like Lowes, Home Depot, and even Amazon.com deal in high volumes. That's why they can offer it at a lower price. I find it hard to believe that the dozen or so units that I saw at two different Lowes were all refurbished.

US law dictates full disclosure on whether the unit is new or refurbished.

7424/7336/G100...........It doesnt matter where you buy it, its all the same. The exception being the money dished out for the G100, as I believe it comes with a lifetime warranty (minus shipping, down time etc.) You could have nearly 2 for the price of the G100. Lowes is fine for the PC, as is Coastaltool. And as earlier said, if its a rebuild, it must be disclosed. And theres nothing wrong with a rebuild. Thats what happens when your first machine dies, ya send it back for new brushes, and get it rebuilt! So if you can save 10-20% on a rebuild, with PC warranty go for it!
