PB's Black Hole

I just used BH last weekend for the first time and the little 01 black VW golf looked amazing.

I kind of cheated on the job a little.
baked on crap APC+ 8:1
washed with NXT
dried with 3 mega plush MF's
spot polished with Flex/105/orange
BH the entire car with flex/BH/yellow polish.
wheel wells got More Shine, and front bumper plastic air dams.
Tires got NL

No interior was done. But I did wipe the door jams with a little quick wax.

I'll try to take some pics. I'll be at a birthday party this weekend may be I'll give it a quick wash before pics..

I am not surprised.:bigups BH served me well. It is another good product amoung all of Poorboy's detailing supplies.

BH is a killer glaze for shine and the plus side is the fillers that help a great deal with dark colors

The customer didn't wanna pay for all that. I could of used just a sealant or wax, But I really wanted to test BH. it's ability to darken or deepen, and conceal fine scratches is amazing. Not to mention it produced a very nice shine!

Then it will all be gone the next rain.

Taking the extra 30 minutes and a couple of dollars of product would have been well advised.

It looked great rolling away from the detail, but it will be short lived.

IMHO not a good way to keep customers.

I think BH did a bit of cleaning, so After it is washed off, I believe the finish would look nicer. The wheels were a pain, and I spotted with 105 on bad areas. I told him 100, he said it was too much, It was all I was giving up for what he gave me. For what he gave me I should of taken it to the car wash, and just did a quick coat of Natty's red, see you later.

I'm really tired of giving up my work for nothing, and I know the customers who I really want to treat nice!

Well as an outsider looking in to this thread, I understand what you did but as to why ($100) doesn't make sense to me. Because its still a job and a job is to be done well, expecially if I am putting my name on it. I would of just done the Natty's because it would of been close to the same result and the customer still would of been pleased(even though they are not the type you want/or treat nice) and perhaps would of spread your name/work around. Now they will have a shiny car for a few days and perhaps not go back to you for any more service. Just my 2 cents.

Grisby, he didn't pay me close to $100, The job was still well done, IMO BH looks better then Natty's especially on a black neglected finish.

This is my second time doing this car. His coworkers asked what he did to the car it looked so nice and shiny. So I feel my job was done. If he would like some winter protection, I'll be glad to swing by wash and sealant or wax, for another $60.

I am tired of working for free. what is fair is fair, I have to many customers looking to get there cars done, and not enough time. I do good work, and always leave my customers happy. How much correction, and how much protection is up to them, and what they are willing to spend.

PS. It has rained for about three days, and the car still looks mint!

Understood!!!!! Hey the customer gets what they paid for. I didn't know the whole story behind this that is why I said I was an outsider looking in. Now I know.

thanks

tmacsad, So should I tell him you'll run out there and UPP his car for free? You have a nice drive from OK.

Seems kind of hostile for agreeing with my post that disagreed with the way you handled your "detail".

Since you are rationalizing/justifying yourself, why did you post it if you didn;t want anyones opinion?

Everyone is entitled to there opinion.

Just letting you know I was not going to seal, this up for what I was paid. BH looked unbelievable!

Not everyone is a waxwaster! LOL

There is nothing wrong with going the extra mile for a customer IMO. Even if you were not getting paid to add protection over the BH. You want the customer to not only use your services again but tell others how great of a job you did.

In doing so I don't believe you are being a waxwaster. ;)

Sorta like a surgeon taking out your appendix, and not sewing you up. Since you were just screaming "Get it out of me", and "I'll only pay you this much".

that made me laugh out loud Ron, if I have a potential customer complaining that $100 is too much, I direct him to the local swirlomatic.

My 2 cents nobody asked for or cares about. :)

tmacsad is correct. You could have gone the extra mile. That would have been good business because a layer of natty's would have cost you almost nothing and the potential of adding more clients would have been worth it.

But if you told your client exactly what they were getting for their money, then there's nothing wrong with that either. He got what he paid for.

After all the opinions given, how would you handle the same situation if given the chance again?

Exactly! So he got a great deal!

If I had to do it again, no polishing, no BH.
I would of washed and waxed or maybe PwC. It would not have looked close to BH's appearance though.
