DETAILED TODAY?
Tire gel and spray. Been reading NOTHING BUT GOOD THINGS on this tire dressing. Do you prefer the gel or spray? And i have read and confirmed NO SLING with either. Sounds like a winner on paper. Out of the 2 which did you find eaiser to work with, apply? And your application methods.

I prefer the gel and apply it to the applicator. It is just a thicker liquid.

I am actually going to do a comparison between BnB gel and BF AIO tire cleaner/protectant soon.
 
Honestly I've never tried the PB's gel but I use the spray and like it better than anything else I use. I did try BlackFire's gel about 3 weeks ago. It turned out nice but I found myself wondering why I would use gel when spray is just so easy for my way of doing things. The gel was more difficult to get into the nooks and crannies using an appicator or a brush. The BlackFire does smell nice. I give both of these plenty of time to dry so of course there is no sling. I wipe PB's down for a matte finish and it's ready to drive immeadiately the gel takes a bit more time.
 
I never used the gel. I have been using the BNB though.
I called Chris at PB because I wasnt happy with it at first.
I prefer that wet look. I was getting a matte look.
He asked how I was applying it.
Spraying and then smoothing with a tire applicator originally.
He suggested cutting the side of a milk jug (I now use a half gallon jug) ..
Pour some in.
Apply it with a paint brush.
After it dries the look is amazing. It shows no runs after the milky white dries to a clear shine.
You can pour the unused product back in the gallon too.
He also said the gel will not give as wet of a look as the liquid.

I have been meaning to try the spray method again but use a paint brush over it after that to see if I get the same look.

I also tried the BF gel that I got a sample of with an order.
I do like it. But I don't think it can be applied with a brush. (Never tried though)
I don't like when you put gel on the applicator that it sits on top....a few times the gel rolled off right on the floor.
 
gel = old wax applicator
liquid = paint brush (liquid in coffee jug) or at shows, on wax applicator
 
Been using PB B/B for a while now and I really like it. I have never tried the gel since I only like gels on low profile tires.

I found that two coats gives me the best look in terms of gloss. Durability is on par with most water based dressings.

It definitely gives PERL a run for its money in the look. I find myself switching back and forth between the two but seem to like PB since it is supposed to have some cleaning abilities.
 
I have both the gel and spray. I guess it's just a matter of preference but I like the spray better. I guess because a lot of my details or tires with kind of weird tread designs on the edges and the spray seems to be easier to get in all the grooves. I use PB on every detail that I do and have never had anyone complain about their tires. I've tried numerous other brands and have always went back to PB's. After it dries it does not sling off and leaves a really great look to the tires. You will not be disappointed with it. In fact I use numerous PB's products and have not been disappointed with any so far. It is one of my favorite product lines. When you get it let us know what you think, I'm sure you will like it.
 
I like the B/B gel, less chance it will spray onto the car. A lot of shows are near the water up here so a little breeze and its on the paint. You can use a towel to catch it but I just figure the gel is easier. Gives a nice compromise of shine and natural look. Either way you'll be fine. They make good stuff

These are the two that I've been using. I tried the BlackFire Gel twice within the past two months. It worked fine and looked great. That said, I went back to my stand by BnB, I've used it for years. Plain and simple it takes me less time to use the BnB spray than any gel I've tried. If sidewalls had no protrusions or indentations a gel would be slick and simple but the devil is in the nooks and crannies.
