PB 2.5 and Klasse AIO: Combo or Redundant

Hi All -- I just picked up these products thinking they may be a good combo on a variety of different paint (I own vehicles spanning 20 years from new paint to kinda rough). I would think that as a combo, rougher paint could stand a pass of 2.5 followed by AIO and then maybe a wax. Whereas newer paint could get by with AIO and a wax. I'll be appying the product with a PC and Sonus pads.

Does this sound like a good plan or am I improperly combining these products?

Thx!

I think that you might need something between 2.5 and aio. 2.5 often causes hazing and will need to be followed up by something like ssr1. AIo might take care of the hazing but i havent tried that combo yet. you will curtainly love the look the ssr's and aio give. Top it with a sealent and or wax and you will be good.

** You should post in the polishing forum next time **:)

Your plan sounds good ...use polishing pads with both the SSR and AIO

excuse me but isnt hazing left behind by a strong polish just a leftover film?

i know micromarring is caused by the cutitng pad and thats when a lighter polish is required to remove it, at times maybe only a milder pad is needed to remove only the micromarring, but wouldnt a cleaner like aio remove that left over film?

ive never used aio for the purpose of removing haze, but ive used aio, and in my opinion its only good as a cleaner with real light swirl removing capabilities. so wouldnt aio be good too?

I have used aio to remove hazing from i belive 83. It took a little longer but it worked.

Hazing, as it is often used on the boards can refer to several different things. IMO, hazing from using a strong polish is micromarring that is very fine and very abundant, thus producing a "haze" on the finish. If it were only a film, a chemical polish would remove it without having to use a milder abrasive polish.

That would be my definition of "hazing"! :bigups

Goosd topic..
i JUST did that combo..
I used 3M compound (Yellow and Orange pad)..I think this is amazing..
Anyhow..I then used
SSR2.5 (Polish Pad)
AIO
UPP..
I'm letting the UPP dry a little now..
but the AIO looked great right after SRR2.5

Can't wait to see the end result with the UPP buffed off..

You can certainly go straight from 2.5 to LSP if you use the right pad combination. If you start with 2.5 using a fairly aggressive pad (sonus orange or the like), you will most likely need to follow-up with SSR 2.5 or 1 on a less aggresive pad. If, however, you choose to begin the process with 2.5 and a green polishing pad, most likely you will be able to go straight to LSP. SSR 2.5 degrades nicely and allows for swirl removal early with polish and gloss enhancement later; as it breaks-down. That is the approach I use and it come out near perfect everytime. Saves a step too!

In my experience, pads cause hazzing and micromarring whereas polishes (PBs polishes w/ the exception of SSR 3) do not result in marring. You can go pretty much all day using 2.5 and a green pad with flawl-less results and the ability to go straight to LSP. Save money, save product, and be more efficient.... that's the overall goal!

ive also noticed on some cars it will haze and others it wont. ive used 2.5 on my car and didnt get any hazing.....but i would use it on a diffrent brand of car it would alittle bit. maybe it was the technique... :dunno

Here is the hood and roof of the Honda I did yesterday..

AIO
UPP
4* QD
