Paste or Liquid, Just Wondering Why?

I am looking at purchasing Pinnacle Paste Wax... and I see they offer liquid wax also. I will be purchasing the paste wax. I was just wondering which wax most people purchase and why. I guess I like the paste wax because it seems more formal, and I equate the liquid wax with cheap junk like Nu-Finish, and Simonize. I guess its really just a personal preference, but I was just wondering what and why??????

The pinnicle souveran paste is completely diiferent, than the liquid souveran w/polycharger. The liquid does produce great results, and last a long time. The paste is less durable, and looks outstanding.

Some liquids look better in certain applications, Paste looks better in others. Having owned both types of products, I certainly don't consider liquids in the Nu Finish category. Id bet the mortgage that Pinnacle Paste outsells the liquid version easily.

I wouldn't want to win your debt:p

I have both, the Paste and the Liquid with poly charge. IMO they both are good quality waxes. Both are easy on easy off. I think both have colors that they will look better on. My vehicle is what the manufactor calls Silver Sand. But both waxes give it a Great shine. I think the liquid has a better durability of a few more days. The paste seems to bring out the metal flake that I never noticed until I used the paste. I give both the thumbs up. I think real noticeable results will depend on vehicle color, and prep!

The general idea is that liquids presumably *must* have a higher solvent/other stuff content just to be liquids and that this isn't good. I dunno...some liquids are better than some pastes and vice-versa.

I have both and use both but I would say the paste lasts longer and gives a deeper shine. That is just me. Either way both products are really excellent

I've always used the Pinnacle Paste, in both Souveran and the Paste Glaze. I think with the paste, you get less waste and can apply it more evenly. As far as durability, I think they are relatively equal.

i prefer paste if both are offered. you get more applications and it doesn't seem to go bad as fast as the liquid...

With the exception of Souveran, vitually all other *same named* paste/liquids are identical to each other. The only difference is that liquid waxes contain more water. Many labour under the misconception that liquids contain more petroleum distillates. Not true. they contain more water, but are the same formula as the pastes, which contain more PDs. (Check the MSDS).

As I said, Souveran is the exception. The liquid may have the same name as the paste, but is a very different formula. By rights, it should be called something else, but I guess they want to leverage off the Souveran Paste Wax name and reputation.

In comparison, Megs #26 paste and liquid are identical in formula except for the water content in the liquid. Once it's applied and evapourates, what's left is the same.

The same is true of nearly every brand of wax...except Souveran. :faint:

Huh, that's interesting (even if I don't use #26), thanks for posting it.

or it could be that the pastes have more emulsifiers in them than the liquids.
