Paste, Liquid, Spray?

It seems tha many people feel that a spray wax/sealant won't have the durability of a paste or a conventional liquid.
Heck, I can remember when it was thought that only a paste wax could give you decent durability.
So, does the method of application really make any difference?
If you feel it does, why would it?
Personally, I can't see any reason why it should, but there again, I have never ever compared the durability of products. If it lasts 4 to 6 weeks, that was always good enough for me.:)

For me, it's easier to control the coverage area and amount of application by using a paste wax over a spray. I've used them in the past and really don't care for them. I never had a problem with the durability of the spray waxes I've used though.

I believe that ultimately what is important, more so than the delivery method, is the ability to apply the product the way the manufacturer designed the product to be used. Here's just one example of what I'm referring to, I know I see alot of products that were designed to allow to haze before wiping off being used as a WOWO product. Following the recommendation of other trusted detailers I've tried this with several products and my results don't usually turn out as well as if I would have followed the manufacturers recommendation. I have found one definite exception to that scenario and it is with Klasse SG. More often than not the manufacturers know the best way of applying their product. Of course your results may vary.

Paste all the way....
May sound wierd, but it feels better applying paste.....
FWIW, I recently read where someone was recommending to not use a paste wax because of the possibility of having contaminants in the paste from the applicator.
I have used all three ways with no problems with any of them.

I can understand having contaminants on an applicator for a somewhat careless detailer, but most of us are a little too anal for that to happen to the point where it affects the finish. But, for the sake of the debate, you could have contaminants on an applicator for the liquid wax and the same on the towel you use to wipe the spray wax of too. I doubt any of us will ever see a completely contaminant free detailing environment.

I have really grown fond of Aquawax, which is a spray sealant. Just based on personal preference and feel, I think it does as good a job "sealing" as any other paste or liquid wax I've used - and I've used quite a few.

I think his thought was that you added the contaminants from the applicator to the paste wax in its' container.
Again, I don't personally see it as a problem.

I knew what it was saying, but I just thought it was a stretch.

I don't think you will ever have a perfectly clean vehicle unless you work in a lab or bubble, there will always be dust in the air or a slight amount of missed dirt in the finish. I prefer using products that are forgiving whether it's liquid, paste, or spray, because sometimes you just need to stop in the middle due to phones, kids, nature calling ..etc.. ;)

I've been using a variety of products (liquid spray) and just marginally satisfied with any of them. But I've read a lot of good things about Aquawax so I decided to give it a shot. I had to order it online since I couldn't find any locally anywhere here in Atlanta! I had to wait until I had big enough order from a distributor who carried it to make it worthwhile ordering. Otherwise you end up paying more for shipping than the product is worth. I would really like to see them expand their distribution network to make this easier to get. I'm really anxious to give it a shot.
