Painter's tape

How much are you guys paying for painter's tape for detailing to cover up the trims? I'm paying about $5 for the 3M blue painter's tape.. is it me or this thing a little overpriced!?

Any other recommendations out there?

I am going to be trying some painters tape I picked up from "Big Lots" that was only 2.75 that has a 14 day clean take off time. Will post back when I get some time with it.

The adhesive on cheap masking tape will bond itself to rubber trim. Especially if it stays on for a day or two.

Either buy it from a detail supplier, or get 3m. The bright green 3m tape is probably the way to go. It is about 6.50 for a roll. I use 3/4" and 2" rolls.

If you use a decent amount of tape as I do, I go threw maybe a roll of 3/4 inch and two inch masking tape. I use the bright green for the 3/4 and the blue for the 2inch. The green tape has a stronger adhesive on it.

anyway if you use a good amount of tape buy it in bulk. I buy it in strips of 20 rolls of each the blue and green and get it for a little less than half price of what it sells for in sears/home depot.

Believe me all those little things we use alot buy them in bulk it adds up veryy quick how much money you can save.
