Paint Rejuvenation and Sun

I just started up a mobile operation. I have a connection at a local body shop and he is allowing me to use his lot to do some work. I will be doing a couple of complete details in the next week. The weather is suppossed to be partly cloudy in the 50's.
I have a canopy but I don't want to spend the time setting it up unneccessarily. Is paint rejuvenation in the sun only bad during extremely hot weather, or is it just the sun itself that effects wax and other products? Also, what is the lowest temperature that I should apply polishes, sealant and waxes? I have heard 55 degrees.

Thanks,

Jim

The Sun is the main problem often for details. Mainly because it creates heat and alot of light. You can avoid this by using ClearKote or Poorboy's products.

When you have heat and light, I have noticed with Mothers Products that hazing occurs faster and its harder to judge when to buff (this was in the old days)

I would say that every product will change differently in every different climate (humidity / temperature)

Hope I could help!

Jim,

From my experience it's basically the extreme heat that has an effect on the application and removal of polishes and waxes. For example you wouldn't want to work on a black car in mid-day sunshine in hot weather. It's always best to consider how hot the surface of the vehicle may be before applying either polishes or waxes.

I am sure there is an ideal temperature to apply polishes, sealants and waxes, however, I have never had a problem working in temperatures into the lower 40 degree range. You just need to consider these weather factors during your application and removal process.

Just my thoughts...
