So, our Posi Test took a crap on us yesterday. And, I'm not terribly interested in paying $700.00 for a new meter if I can avoid it. I found a "Highline" brand meter for about $200.00. Anyone have experience with this product or have a suggestion, based on experience?

Andy, Have you inquired about the repair cost on the Posi test?



I just have the posi test and the ADV 200. So no other experience.

No, just failed yesterday so, haven't had a chance to have it checked/repaired. But, it was dropped then went kaput. So, I'm guessing it may require some diagnostics, parts, etc. I'm also guessing it may take some time and I don't want to be without. ut, honestly, I really hadn't given repair any thought. Maybe I'll do some research and see if that's possible, within a reasonable time frame.

I have the Highline and it works great for what I need. .1 mil accuracy, fe and no fe readings, Mils and Microns.

Yea I just saw the new one as well... I'm going to place an order today but can't help but wonder if I should just get the old one, in case there are some 'issues' with the new model?



Then again it's completely covered for at least a year so...



Thoughts?

The only diff between the two is size, in my research.



Accumulator, I remember in past threads the Phase II was an option several of us looked at. I'm sorry that one is so Unfriendly.......sell it off on ebay or maybe someone here wouldn't mind it?



I really want to save for one that measures EACH layer of the paints and does fiberglass (boats and corvettes).

Greg Nichols- Yeah...I oughta do *something*. I still feel guilty about the way I left you hanging after I got it...it's just that I never did get it (well, maybe I should say "my technique" :o ) sorted out to where I could really evaluate the thing in a meaningful way. Compared to others it's simply a PIA. I just used my painter's "ETG" brand ETG (yeah, that's the brand name) on the MPV and *man* was that thing idiot-proof!

According to the HighLineMeter.com website, both the 1st generation HighLine and the HighLine II measures on steel AND aluminum.
