Paint feels ... dull

Hi,

I always waxed my car with ZAINO. It always worked great on my white car but for some reason, I decided to try KLASSE all in one and P21S wax with the PC 7424.

So I started to apply the KLASSE with an the orange pad and buffed it out. Just at that step, I was looking at the paint going "what the hell did I do? It feels dull and boring".

Then I applied the P21S and it just looked ... boring again. Looks like it removed all the shine my car had.

I should say I use the buffer at set 2.

What am I doing wrong? I should go and take a picture of it.

Thanks for helping.

When you apply the Klasse you can't use an orange pad. An orange pad is used to polishing and cutting. Klasse is not designed to be used that way, and you should probably have used a white pad. I'm thinking that the orange pad marred the surface and thus made the paint dull. Also, you should probably use a slightly higher speed (but make sure you don't use orange pad).

Remember, orange pad is for polishing, not application.

Buffing with an orange on speed 2, will cause a lot of marring. I use KAIO and P21S on my white paint regularly, and my car always looks dripping wet. (as far as white can look).

Thanks for the replies :)

Actually, I bought these : Sonus Dual-Action System Foam Pads: Sonus DAS Pad Kit along with some Sonus SFX-2 Enhance Swirl Remover and Sonus SFX-1 Restore Polish, along with KLASSE all-in-one and P21S.

You are saying I should apply KLASSE with the blue pad, then apply P21S with the white pad again?

I've used the Sonus blue pad (polishing) with KAIO and had excellent results (PC on 4-5). For the SG I put a microfiber bonnet over the blue pad and applied it in a very thin coat using setting 3 on the PC and wiped it off after I finished each panel.

So what pad and speed do you use Josh? I just put in my first order for Klasse AIO and I also have a white vehicle.

With KAIO, I use a white pad, and start at speed 2-3 to just rub the paint in and spread evenly. Then I do a pass or two at speed 5. Get great results.

Thanks Josh! I am also in the process of selling my house and buying a new one with an oversized two car garage....not to mention the house I live in now is on a dirt road. I cant wait to move, have a garage to park in every night and a paved road and driveway to help keep my vehicles clean. Thanks again

KAIO is very easy to apply so I just apply it by hand with a mf applicator and buff with a mf. Sometimes i'll use a mf bonnet over a megs cutting pad to buff.

P21S Concours goes on so smooth so I've done that by hand also.

I don't suggest SG with a PC as it's a little more difficult to keep it from streaking. I've found by hand to be the best method (for me) with the above products.
