Paint Coating Durability Shootout Recommendations

+1 for cquartz. I just bought my 30ml bottle and am dying to try it out. When I get a free weekend maybe I'll do a full correction on my car and apply it for a test run. I almost hope my client cancels his detail labor day weekend, then I could take my time and do it. Getting excited thinking about it.

Clients car is a nighthawk black pearl Acura TL. I have already begun lighting candles at church and I think I will point the car towards Mecca when I work on it. Hate finishing down on those damn things

You can buy it in a pre-mixed formula or the concentrate. Really works good try it Dave!!!

Let's keep pushing for it until David caves in! I'm seriously intrigued about this stuff.

Permanon is not a coating similar to Opticoat and Gtechniq C1. Permanon is more or less the same product as Gtechniq C2.

I would also add Element 119 - System X, who is a very nice coating and holding up great so far.

Permanon utilizes waterborne nano-engineered particles of Silicium (14Si) that electrostatically bond to the surface being protected. Aquartz and Cquartz are Silica Dioxide nano glass coating which is the same thing. Corrct? DIY Permanon Car Supershine - Kiss Waxing Goodbye - MyFORTE: Malaysia Naza Kia Forte Forum ....

David, see my post on DW.

It is worth to ask for samples from Asian manufacturers, because they basically own the market. Coatings are pretty common there and they provide reliable performance. Even the known brands are made by either the Japanese or the Koreans. Gtechniq is a Jap-made product, A/B/Cquartz started as a Korean, then became Japanese, and now it's Korean again.

The Sonax coating is also a Japanese development (branded as KeePer Diamond) and for example dirt cheap in Hungary (under 20 bucks; 50 ml aerosol).

I was maybe a little unclear but since english is my third language I will give it a new try. Permanon will not last as long as the other coatings who have been mentioned in this thread. And therfore I don´t think

its necessary to test it. I see Permanon/C2 to be used as a touch up after washes. And yes, it works great.

I would second to my buddy, Bence. Sonax aerosol is a great coating, but as Bence mentioned, it´s a japanese coating ??????????| ?????????? ??? ???????? ???????? KeePer

Excuse me Porta. I don't exactly why you don't think Permanon is not a coating. Maybe I am just clueless. PERMANON USA Hard & Fast Finishes - Supershine, Cleanzer, Revitalizer, Universal Cleaning Paste David, the person you need to talk to is

David,

I would Like to see....

Opti-Guard

Opti-Coat 2.0

GTechniq C1

CQuartz

Let me know if you need either of these.

I think it would be cool if the test also cover the application process and the pro & cons between them. I know C1 didn't want to level out for me...

I'll second the Element 119 System X for comparison also. It's a Ceramic coating made in USA :) would love to see how it compares the the japanese coatings mentioned.

Also, like others have mentioned, I'm curious to see the Permanon - Platinum version if possible (it has the most silicum content of all their offerings)

To play the *******, Element 119 sounds and looks just like AQuartz a product that has the same description as CQuartz.

I would love to see all the three products tested seeing how IMO its probably the same stuff, different bottle, different name.

One says that AQuartz stole/copied everything from CQuartz but a very good buyer was a tester for AQuartz that came from the same supplier who now pushes CQuartz  Yeah.

Well.. I have all of them.. System X / Cquartz / Aquartz. and can comfortably say that none of them are the same.

Cquartz is definitely not the same as Aquartz. Cquartz is a clear liquid with a strong solvent smell. Aquartz is milky white with less smell. The application is also very different of the two.

Cquartz also seemed to change recently as well. I bought a bottle in May (unopened) and went to use it last week and it was all jelled up in the bottle. I have a bottle from late last year that i purchased that's half empty and is still liquid. Just bought a new bottle from AG with their labor day sale so will test again soon.

System X is more similar to Cquartz but still different enough from what i can tell. Thing that makes SystemX attractive is what you get for the $. 100ml and a bottle of their prep cleaner compared to 30ml of Cquartz. Heck you can get a 237ml bottle for less than Cquartz. So far i like them both... i will say though that E119 sys x once cured has a much more slick feeling initially compared to Cquartz.

I also have OptiCoat on one of my family members car and it's holding up fantastic.....Crazy... i really like these new technology car care products. Last year I was all Carnauba Crazy... now i want to sell them off lol.

Back on topic, i think this test is cool and whatever David picks out, i will be interested in following and reading his thoughts about each.
