Pad Problems

I recently just used the menzernal polishes with my pc. I used a yellow pad from proper auto care for the IP and a white pad for the FP. When I was using the IP my pad would become caked with product and then it would splat. What am I doing wrong? Is this a pad problem or a user problem. The results were good with both except there did seem to be a hard time removing the product. A lot of effort to buff off.

Toooooooo much product indeed......You should never have product sling, a sure indicator you applying too much, secondary, difficult to remove. Start off with dampening your pad, with either water or a ID. Spot apply your product at 12-3-6-9 o'clock. Smeer on the desired work area, to kind of work it in the pad, start at a slow speed and work your way up a notch or so after your pad has become seasoned with product.......

I agree with Patrick, sounds like are using too much product. Use smaller amounts and also work smaller areas at a time so you are less likely to use too much polish.

Cheers for that patrick, will help me during my training.

I've always applied product around the pad as shown on the interact thumbnail on top of the home page here.

Have gotten heaps of sling with farecla but with 3M P II and III, far far less but probably still using too much product.

Having said all that if you read Mosca's tutorial, he places a lot of product on his pads, and also believes that you should not 'lubricate' the pad, as this, is in effect weakening the product.

It is obviously important to spread the product out on the worked area first, and failing to do this would cause the sling I guess?
