Which brand do u use and which would u recommend/not recommend?

I use the Propel pads and I most definitely recommend them. They're the cheapest I've been able to find, and they work as good or better than any of the others.

Plus, Patrick is always quick to resolve any problems with any of his products. :xyxthumbs

I was under the impression that the Sonus DAS were very similar to the Propel, but those pictures indicated the DAS pads are more similar to the pads with the recessed velcro area as shown in the last picture. Can anyone clarify? Anyone have a pic of the back of a DAS pad?

I can tell u for sure the sonus das has an indentation into foam where the backing plate fits into (only 5" fits) hence it has foam edge, whilst the propel has very slight indentation in velcro, and has large foam clearance so in all, it has extra foam clearance rather than a foam side edge. can anyone help me out on the missing spaces? or can anyone measure their pad dimensions and give them to me so i can post em up?

The Edge pads do not require a backing plate, but instead use a locking tool that attaches to the machine (Rotary or Orbital - one adapter for each) and inserts into the center of the pad. Both sides of the pad are usable.

I just got the 8" kit from Autogeek and am using it this weekend. Wish me luck.

This post has been VERY informative for me, as I am getting ready to get a PC VERY soon. Thanks civicdacbiet! The propel pads, they will fit either 6" or 7"?

Edge 2000 pad system . No backing plate , double sided pad and you can use the edge . :buffing:

Do a 5 or 6 inch backing plate...the pads themselves ar 7 inches. I have propels and love them, but lately I find myself using the Meguiar's Pads alot more. Then again, that's becuase I killed both of my Propel cutting pads thourhg alot of use.

This is a good thread...I have been using Autogeek pads, but like the idea of pads with backing-plate indentations. :woot:

Where are you all buying your Meguiar's pads from? Is their a best site for Propel as well? (I think TOL carries them..but maybe there is somewhere else?)
