WERD~! If using a PC for any correction work or polishing, I spread the polish at 3 and bump to 6 to work it. I use speed 3 to spread waxes or sealants.

4 to spread and flash the polish, then bump right to 6 to do effective polishing. For some reason, cranking from 4 to 5 doesn't seem like that big of a difference, but from 5 to 6 its like the thing is supercharged or something! Almost feels like I'm going from 5 to 7 (even though that machine doesn't go to 7k).

Just my personal take on using the PC - for some polishes (Menzerna and Poorboys for example), I will use speed 6. But for Meguiars I will only use up to speed 5, espeically with #83 which just dried way too fast on speed 6 and doesn't effectively break down. Also, be very aware of pad delamination when using the PC on speed 6, I have now had a couple of pads used on speed 6 delaminate. Just something to be aware of.

Main issue I have with speed 6 is when I accidentally lift the machine coming around an emblem, and the pad spins up real quick and sometimes either A) Flies off about 30 feet, or B) Rips the velcro backing (Hasn't happened since the first time, but still happened)

I still use it for any polishing, just gotta be 6x more careful than speed 5 ;) :)
