Actually, it is a 90. Prep is 90% of the shine though. Meguiars Body Shop Pro stuff mostly.

Outstanding! Can your provide a little more information on your procedure and the exact products.

Thanks for your response.

I've been using Souveran for a while-probably had 7-8 coats on it when I got the S100. I polished my car with Meguiars Swirl Free Polish (Body Shop Pro line), then used the S100 paint cleanser followed by 2 coats of S100 wax.

I normally wax my car every 4-6 weeks or so, and polish it every other time, usually with Meguiars Hand Polish (BSP line) and about every 6-9 months, I use Swirl Free to deep clean the paint, then follow it with Hand Polish and whatever wax I am currently using.

Guys I also picked up S100 at a bike shop...very good product BTW...but they also had Plexus there....so look for it while your looking for your S100.

For biker's, it much easier to keep waxing since they have limited areas to cover.

I've come to learn here the durability is as following ranging from longest to shortest

Blitz, No. 26/Zymol Carbon, Gold Class/Mothers

What's everyone take on S100 and it's durability?

All I say is WOW with all those pics. Good god.

Paco,

a) Out of the waxes you listed, the most durable is Blitz. Right behind that is #26.

b) To answer your durability question about S100 (nee P21S), it's about the same as Souveran

For :D, I did 1/2 of my hood in S100 and the other half in Souveran. I will have a pic up pretty soon. The right (left in the pic) is S100 and the left (right in the pic) is Souveran.

As far as the gloss factor, it's pretty much a dead heat. As far as the sensual feel factor is concerned, Souveran wins.

Actually, try a search for Collinite. This might be even tougher than the famed Blitz strength.

I can't see any of the pics :nixweiss

The site I was hosting the pics on changed the url of their picture upload, so what was posted is now lost in the abyss that is the internet. I have the first two pics from the initial post hosted on my site now, so you can see them now. I have another roll I am dropping off in the morning, so I should have more to post when I get done working tomorrow evening.

Scottwax, I absolutely agree with the preparation being THE most important step. I have proven that to myself several times. Every time our sports cars group gets together, mine is the best looking one there, as far as the finish is concerned.

To speak to the question of the durability of the S100 wax, it looks to me that you will need to reapply it from four to six week intervals. It beads water very well, but after a while it loses it's "slick feel" and that's when I put another coat on. I'm using S100 over Finish First and to me this seems to be a great combination.

Here is a Durability Chart from Powerboat Reports . It compares mostly boat waxes, but Collinite #885 Paste Fleetwax is the same or similar to #476s Double Coat (Gurureports "Editors Choice"). It's just marketed differently.
