P21s Metal Polishing Soap

Do NOT use it on clear coated surfaces. It is abrasive. It contains a pumice. I use it for exhaust tips.

I use it for non automotive purposes like polishing brass and stainless steel.

P21S Polishing Soap

NOTE: P21S Polishing Soap is not intended for use on painted, clear coated or anodized surfaces.

I use it all the time. It works wonders on stained exhaust tips and polished aluminum. Make sure that the surface isn't coated with anything or this will remove some/all of said coating.

This is my go to product for polishing chrome. It produces a great finish, and with minimal effort.

so, save to use on chrome wheels? Even though chrome is a coating? Are there alot of 100% chromed wheels out there?

I think what they mean is that if the surface has been wet-cleared, then you should not use the polishing soap on it. However, since chrome is really a few different types of metals "on top" of each other (i.e., chromium, nickel, copper, zinc; the process involves cathodes that bond them to each other), they are not going to come off if you use the soap on it.

I think I could've worded that better but I'm beat! Sorry!

I have it and dont like it. Tried is on my Weld rims and I wasnt impressed.

Those are polished aluminum, right? I've never tried it on polished aluminum, only chrome, but I *have* used Blue Magic Liquid Metal Polish, and that works well to polish aluminum.

Polished aluminum is a total pain, imo. I had Bogarts on my mustang and had to polish them weekly or they would look horrible....drove me nuts!!

Yeah. Wolfgang just came out with some Aluminum polish. Might look into that. Its expensive though.

I tried the P21S on my kitchen sink also and still wasnt impressed.

I bought the S100 polishing soap at a local Harley Dealer. As far as polishing goes, it will cut through the oxidation pretty well on uncoated aluminum, but if you really want it to pop...plan to polish by hand or machine with some metal polish afterward. I use it on my polished aluminum wheels all the time.

So say that I wanted to remove the clearcoat from my aluminum wheels, would this be a good product for that? Or should I use something specifically made to remove clearcoat?

Definitely not. Its going to take something very abrasive/aggressive to completely remove the clearcoat like acid, sanding, etc.
