p21s gel wheel cleaner sucks

I usually spray the wheels with it, wash the car while agitating the wheels half way and then pressure wash the wheels afterwards. I have to go back to get some areas but other than that it's been working fine. I've been using the meguiars hot rims wheel cleaner and it works wonders! However, it smells horrible!

I think P21S is one of the best wheel cleaners out there. However, I have never used it on chrome wheels, only coated. I actually use the non-gel version because the gel is overkill for my wheels.

This is the only negitive review I've read on this wheel cleaner...

The Gel is formulated for agitation and dwelling, you need to spray a tiny bit then water it down. Very good cleaner, you don't always need a chemical that blows brake dust away in a second.

P21S gel is my favorite wheel cleaner. I know it's a bit on the expensive side of the spectrum, but I think it's worth it. I agree with what other have said...dwelling time is crucial in how well it's going to work. To the OP...if you don't want the rest of yours, I will buy it from you. Same goes for the car wash...I really like it too.

Just used it for the first time on my chrome wheels and it did virtually nothing. I had to go back and wash them by hand like I always do. They werent even very dirty to begin with. just 1 weeks worth of normal daily driving.

Also not impressed with the p21s car wash. The suds suck and its not very slick at all.

Oh well at least the wax itself rocks!

P.S., I used to live out your way in Gaithersburg... has the traffic gotten any better? I suspect not.

+1. This is probably the best wheel cleaner out there for wheels that have been cared for. I just wish it weren't so $$$.

The traffic sucks around here. I live off of redland road in derwood which is right between gaithersburg and rockville.

Sounds like it has gotten worse. When they started the I270 widening project and added the goofy access lanes I moved to Bethesda to be closer to my work. The beltway must be a nightmare now. Thank goodness I don't commute to work anymore... I can just hang in the garage and buff.

:waxing:

Don't forget about the 15 year Springfield Interchange Project that just recently became completed. Springfield/Alexandria/Kingstowne is now officially the first part of the world to re-enact the town where the Jetsons live.

My fiances best friend used to work in bethesda at just cakes. Now she works at Dean and deluca in georgetown. She said the traffic is a really bad heading down that way. I am glad I dont have to commute for work. Most days when we head out we are heading north toward germantown or toward olney.

EDIT: I wish I had some shade to clean my cars in! In the dead of summer my car cleaning comes to a stand still. My race car occupies our little 1 car garage and its a hassle to move the landscape trailer then get the car out to pull something else in to work on.

I know what you favorite word is. It adds nothing to the thread. Do you talk to EVERYONE like that?

MDRX8, seriously, in trying to make your point about how his words add nothing to the thread, you are adding nothing to the thread. If you are really that concerned with his eloquence/wording/usage on this forum, please take it to PM. No disrespect meant to you nor anyone else in here. Just a hopeful suggestion.

Apparently "sucks" is a bad word where ever you live? I mean seriously come on your a little ridiculous (is that a bad word to?). If you dont like my so called vulgar language then dont read this thread.

Let me set you straight on how things work here.

Lets say my friend asked me how a movie was that I just watched. Lets say I disliked it alot. So what do I say to him? I would say "That movie really sucked". Im not the type of person to be all prim and proper and say "Upon watching said movie I found it to not appeal to my liking".

Catch my drift?

When meeting a person you have fifteen seconds to project the image you would want them to carry away with them of you. The written word (on forums, email, snail mail etc.) gives you even less time to make initial impressions as there are no visual cues to judge by. When one uses words that are on the fringe of decency that person projects a negative image of themselves. Sad but in most cases true.

The word suck (within this context) in and of itself doesn't offend me. It's just prejudice against intransitive verbs as a means of expressing merit (or lack thereof, in this case). It's just that there are better choices when in public.

Back on topic: when washing my well cared for wheels I use the 1 gal. or so of DG901 leftover from my previous wash (which is usually free of dirt or grime) and a nice soft wheel brush followed by a rinse, wipe and then spray w/ 50/50 AW and QD after each washing. This combined w/ a quarterly application of DG105 makes life easier ;)

LOL are you serious??? Its an online forum amongst adults and the word "sucks" is commonly used slang to describe something bad or not good etc.. Honestly don't take this stuff so seriously. After all its only the internet.

Well, I haven't tried P21s gel wheel cleaner, my budget is strained trying to pay for gas and groceries - not to mention that detailing has slowed down. But, I did try that CG CW&G mixed 4:1 in a spray bottle on my wheels and I'm very impressed. Yeah, I'm looking to save a few bucks every chance I get!
