P21S and S100

I seen where people were praising the P21S wax.I called up a distribitor to place an order.We had a conversation on different brands and opinions.He says that his supplier told him that P21S and S100 were the same product just different labels and that the S100 was marketed toward Motorcycles.So why the long story?

The Price! S100 is half the price of P21S.Has anybody else been told this before?

I tried the S100 and LOVE it!!!But what really made the paint POP was to ad a coat of NXT on top of the S100 and WOW!!!

I used this method on a Black car and on a Blach gelcoat Boat.Both owners were amazed and very pleased.

To me they are the same, you can get the S100 at any Harley dealer for about 15 bucks
 
Here's a current discussion about P21s v. S100. I might buy the claim more vs. less carnauba is in one over the other but the other claim,how one is designed for a flat v. a curved surfaces is laughable to me. If this were really a true factor, why hasn't someone tried to market a wax for every type of exterior panel of a car ( of course, selling a kit together for all of them :rolleyes: ;) )citing the product is designed for its shape and size? :

I'm starting to think Nick is right on this. He is an unbiased source. Now S100 is very, very good and I have a hard time paying the difference. It's up to you whether you want to spend the extra $10-$15.



I think the ultimate thing to do is to buy the Valet Kit of P21S products when they go on holiday special. Last year Top of The Line was selling the kit (with a nice plastic briefcase) for $40. This year they are selling 2 for $91 so if you can find a buddy also interested it's almost as good a deal. Normal street price is $60.



You get the wax, GEPC, Bodywork shampoo which is one of the best IMHO, the awesome P21S wheel cleaner (highly rated by Guru Reports), and a windshield wipe (the only P21S product I'm not real fond of).



Another option is to go the Pinnacle route. They have great kits that are often on special and include a wide variety of great toys. There was a 20% off deal recently off the sale prices which pushed Souveran down to around $48 a jar. There is no better carnauba for black or dark colored cars in my opinion.

Thanks guys.I think I'll keep with the S100.I agree with the waxes being designed or formulated for differences surfaces being a joke.I can't bring myself to believe that one.

I agree, Nick is a great guy, he's just passing on the claims of the mfr. Yep, given the two I would go with S100 as well
 
I posed this a few times but here we go again.A few years back I had words with P21 management9around 2001) and they told me that P21Sand S100 was the same item. Foward a few years later and they changed the 2 ever so slitely that you really can't notice the difference..its up to you to decide if you want to pay the 15 difference
 
Ya know, and Im speaking truthfully here, S100 really doesnt tork my bolts......Other than ease of application (notice i didnt say removal), im not in the market for another plastic can of it.
 
Just out of curiosity, Patrick: What is it about S100 you don't like?



I like it OK, but don't think it makes my car look a lot better than SG without a topper. But, I have a light colored vehicle.
 
I just dont think its anything spectacular, yes it goes on easy, but i dont find it real E Z to remove....Especially if your not using a wipe on/wipe off method.....As for looks? I dont see any vast or drastic improvement in depth or clarity. Its just not a "go too" in my arsenal.....my $.02.



I guess im just a polymer man by nature. Theres something about knowing your product is bonding, as opossed to "floating" on the surface. Now i dont want get into a peeing contest here, carnaubas just arent for me, but if a client insists on it, well, thats what Ill use.
 
Wipe on, wipe off is the only method to consider when using S100. Letting it dry is putting yourself through unnecessary amounts of trouble.



I love the stuff. It comes off as easily as it goes on, and it looks better than anything else you could get for $15. My main summer wax for every day driving.
 
I'm still experimenting (my level of experience is nowhere near you guys) but I like S100 OK and think it is a great product for a beginner like myself. It really couldn't be easier to use.



However, I do have two bottles of UPP sitting around, so I think that will be my LSP for the next few months.

I heard their was a lawsuit that split the company but that could be rumor. S100 is a good economical wax but I think other economical wax's give a deeper shine. Natt'y does better for the same price my opinion. I've been using S100 for two yrs and recently switched for that reason. But the wax guru did rate S100 I mean p21s as the top paste wax and many other magazines praise the stuff. I always wax a sealed car and have never had problems with either s100 or nattys.
 
I think S100 is great, so easy to use. Natty's is comparable in looks, but is much harder to apply evenly and remove, in my experience.
 
Removal of S100 is only a problem if you wait more than the recommended few seconds to wipe it off. Just a quarter panel at a time is best.
 
I like NXT by itself and the S100 by itself.BUT,there was a very noticable difference when I put on a coat of S100 and then a coat of NXT.I've only done this on black but has to have great results on all colors.I am definately sticking with this process on high end jobs.
 
Because of the cleaning properties in NXT, you may have removed the layer of S100 when you applied it on top. a good combo is NXT/S100.
