Oxidation?

A friend has a 10 year old Caddy, overall paint looks good except for a few spots where it looks like the paint has oxidized (grayish haze) and clearcoat a little "bubbly"?



Can this be polished out or does it have to be re-painted?

If it were just a faded area, you could probably treat the oxidation with AIO or 1Z UPP. Nevertheless, with the "bubbly" paint you describe it may be some kind of clearcoat failure. Hard to help without a picture.

Most of the "bubbly" paint I see is the start of rust showing through. Never noticed just the clear bubbling. Cracking-yes. Clearcoat failure. Must repaint.
