Might want to check if it was repainted. IIRC, the Camry white should be a single stage, soft paint. My friend has an 06 Hybrid Camry and its single staged.

What other products do you have? SIP? 106FF? Those may help if the cc was rock hard.

SS paint isn't necessarily soft. I have a white 2002 Toyota Avensis that has very hard SS paint. Took 2-3 hits with #84 on a cutting pad via rotary to get most of the swirls out.

Dude, I really want to. Teach me, teach me!

The rotery is not the big mean paint eater its made out to be. Yes, it can do damage fast. I was never totally happy with the correction I got with a PC. I could never get a totally clear finish.

The rotary is faster to correct, no vibration to mess up the nerves in your hands, less effort to polish, clearer finish, able to tackel the really nasty stuff....

You get the point.

As far as learing how to use one. Its not as bad as you think (I'm not saying harmless). There is tons of info on how to use a rotary on this site. I will reiterate the most important anyways.

-Keep the speed lower until you are comfortable/ 1200 RPM will do alot of correction

-Don't push on the polisher/ enough pressure to keep it flat on the panel is fine

-Polishing/finishing pads are way easier to control than cutting pads(wool is better yet)

-Keep the panel cool, or at least not hot to the touch

-Keep it moving on the panel/ don't dwell on one spot to get after a scratch

-STAY AWAY FROM EDGES really!

Don't worry about finishing out perfect, you can easily follow up with your flex. Get some polishing and finishing wool pads and a rotary. Take it easy and you should be fine. :woot2:

With a rotary, is it easier to burn through the paint with a wool pad or with a cutting pad (orange or yellow)?

A cutting pad can burn faster, foam will run hotter in the same conditions as wool. Foam cutting pads a usually stiffer, too. They won't absorb the contour of a panel as well. Wool is less likely to burn trim and emblems, foam will grab it and melt, or take it completely off. Tape off trim and emblems.

Wool is also way better on painted plastic, it runs cooler. You don't get any warning that the plastic is getting too hot too fast. Remember plastic and fiberglass to not radiate the heat as well as metal. I don't use foam cutting pads. I do use foam for polishing/finishing like the LC white/blue. They are soft enough to be controlled easily.

These are just tidbits to keep in mind. I am not trying to scare you. Just take it easy. :idea There is a lot more info available in the Machine Polishing Forum .

SIP and an orange pad is reaching no where near the limit of the Flex in terms of correcting paint.

Try a 6inch foamed wool pad with Meguiars M105. Will cut it very nicely. Quite a few flex owners have used M105 and it worked brilliantly.

Most rotary only compounds work fine with the flex due to its forced rotation. You just have to make sure you use a strong pad thats not too big..

There ya go. That combo is a killer on the rotary.

The only thing I'd be concerned about using M105 on a DA polisher is that the M105 isn't a diminishing-abrasives type polish; the abrasives stay the same size. The potential for some nasty compounding haze is there if you get too jiggy with it. Coumpounding haze can be harder to get out than the original swirls and paint defects with a DA type buffer. But having said that, as TTWAGN says, quite a few flex guys have used it with great results. If you do get the compounding haze, SIP on an orange pad should clear it up the best.
