Outstanding Wax Job!

Caddy STS yo.. Dam I hope he's not applying mr.Turtle Wax on those poor cars.

TW turn freaking lik a cement when it sat for long time. :nervous2:

OMG! Talk about breaking all the rules of waxing. I think the "do ONE 2x2' section at a time" so common on products was written for those types of bozos. I can't even imagine what the residue in the cracks must look like.

Looks to me like he's been smoking some of that crack residue :chuckle:

Am I the only one that doesn't get what we're actually looking at here?

Ditto here. I can see the Cadillac Seville STS on the left covered in wax, not sure if we're supposed to be observing the detailer's unprofessional dress??? :nixweiss

Must be the "protection for a year plan."

I see people come around the office complex that I am in all the time to clean cars. Mostly washes though. I have heard of people getting their car waxed in there, but have never gotten to see them actually doing it.

That was really just a side note. I thought that was funny too though. Im surprised you pointed that out. It was the incredibly horrible wax job that he did on BOTH cars that was so funny.

How do you know what the product is on the vehicle? WAX or SEALANT: If it is wax he has a work out ahead of him, If it sealant I thought the rule is the longer the better and YES it's a little thick but how many of us made the same mistake? Also There are lots of so called PROFESSIONAL DETAILERS that detail vehicle out in the open as such seen in that picture alot wont admit it but they are on this PHORUM.

For sealants, cure time is important..but the cure time begins after it is buffed off, and thin coats are much better than one thick slathering on the paintwork!

The professional detailers and "weekend warriors" here are out in the open on the "phorums" about where they do their detailing and are not "Fonies" :p :chill:

The problem here isn't whether or not it's right to pick on these two meatheads for their inexperience. Ignorance can be dealt with. I'm sure everyone here has a personal story along the lines of what we see here before we learned better.

The problem is : these two are charging people money to do shoddy work while undoubtedly giving the rest of us who honestly try to do our best work and put time into learning about products and procedures a bad name.

After those two are done making a mess of people's cars we have to work that much harder to justify our prices and services if the standard is set so low and that's what people expect from a "mobile detailer".

Those guys look like they're just trying to make a quick buck without any regard for their customers or their craft.

Just my worthless opinion.

Do you believe that? But I'm not here to argue I see alot of us here are COLOR blind !!!!!!

I'm not going to address that directly; I like to keep my views on socioeconomics off the boards. :hide:

its not a racial issue. Its exactly how you said it. It would be one thing if it were their own cars. Its the fact that they are charging for it. Then if the customers end up usings a REAL pro, then its 100X harder for us, not to mention it makes the rest of us look really really bad. Then ppl take it to the stealerships to do an even worse job sometimes...

l think the racial comments were derived from the way they were "werding" things.. But back to the topic at hand. What do we do about ppl like this? Like I said, I plan on showing those customers what professionals detailers can do. Ill go talk to them in a few days. Any idea on what to say?

I remember my brother and I did that back in the mid 80's. It rained while the wax was still on my father's truck!

It was a pain to get off!

You probably won't have to say much once you start pointing out the flaws in their cars' paint that either weren't removed or were inflicted upon it by Harpo & Chico.

Educate them a little and maybe they'll come around. Most people don't understand the difference between good and bad work until you point it out to them, they just see a 'shiny' car and assume it's done right.

Just introduce yourself , tell them what you saw and tell them you can do a better job.

Good Luck and keep us posted.
