Other ClearKote Products

I was wondering about the car wash myself. I got some in one of those package deals but have not used it yet. I plan to try it this spring but for the next couple of months it will be QEW in the garage for me.

I did not car for the car wash. I've become quite spoiled when it comes to car washes. I'm using the car wash for my wheel wash these days.

Yes, the 2nd generation car wash is excellent. Reminds me of Duragloss car wash. Thick liquid, slippery and very sudsy.

The tire protection is very durable but it does contain PDs. You might want to contact Clearkote about that and see what their thoughts are on that. I tend to stick with water based tire protection.

The metal polish is on par with other quality metal polishes. The clay bar is a Clay Magic style bar. Seems a touch more aggressive than the standard CM blue bar.

I am testing a compound (so are a few others) for Clearkote right now, as well as a final glaze tenatively called 'yellow wax'. The compound is more aggressive than DACP and will leave some light hazing on soft paint, none on harder paints that I can see. The yellow wax has an appearance similar to Meguiars #7 or #81 in that it leaves the paint looking deep and wet but it is far easier to use. Apply with a finishing pad and wipe off with an mf. No streaks, smears or hazing whether you remove it wet or dry.

I also hear of a 'red glaze' that Mr. Glass says is even better than Vanilla Moose, but I don't have any of that.

How do you tell the 2nd version from the 1st version? When did the 2nd version go on sale?

It is blue and smells like cherry cough syrup. I think the new version has been around since last summer.

Thanks Scott. I remember mine being blue but I don't think I have sniffed it yet. Doesn't sound like much of a buzz..

What are your experience's with other ClearKote products besides: VM, CMW, QS, MW? Good/Bad?

I wrote a positive review for vm here:

QS is probably my top pick for qd, but eagle one wet wipe & shine is a close second to me. I like them both a lot, but I'd have trouble justifying buying it again, especially since it costs so much more than WWS for marginal performance increase.

MW is a great, easy to use cleaner wax that leaves a nice shine. My friends are happy with what it does to their cars, and I'd be happy with its results on my own car. I haven't any experience with other cleaner waxes so I cannot comment further.
