Orbital polishing over vinyl graphics?

I'm going to be correcting my dad's 1980 MGB within the next 3 weeks and I was wondering what I should do about the car's vinyl graphics along the side. Can it be polished over or should it be masked off and avoided?

I would polish it, but use a light cutting pad (green or white) instead of an aggressive one. Tape it off while correcting if you are and follow that area with a more gentle pad.

Thanks for the suggestions. I do have Klasse AIO, along with Megs 105/205, and a sample of Pinnacle Finishing Polish. Yellow, Green, and Black pads. So either 205 or KAIO with the green pad

Are they one piece stickers or several pieces? If they are several pieces, I'd use KAIO by hand. You risk too much with thin stickers (much like pin stripes) with a machine. I'd work in parallel lines with the stickers. Start with least aggressive method first.

Good advice Dan.

I would also like to add, to wipe the product before it dries. Less chance it sticks around the decal edges.

They are several pieces. Though I think they're connected in multiple places. I need to assess the thickness. Hopefully there aren't too many defects down there. I do know that the whole car is a re-spray, so that means new decals were put on at some point. That could've been 15 years ago though.

I've done many cars with vinyl stuff. Just don't use 105! :D

205 will do fine. Or KAIO. polish and a thorough wipe and it is good to go.
