Orange LC pad with #83 on a 2004 Dodge?

Any opinions on an Orange Lake Country pad and Meg 83 on a 2004 black Dodge Durango? I've used the white Lake County pad and 83 to remove swirls and it removed about 50% of them. It really shined too. I couldn't believe how much more it shined. I presume some oxidation occoured even though it's only a year old.



Is the orange pad to much? I just need some basic guidance. Maybe a yellow LC?



Am I hurting the paint with a PC and this combo?



SHould I just stop and be happy with 50% removal before I damage the paint?



I've spend a fortune on products, getting more and more aggressive. Now I'm to Orange and 83. Thanks for you Help.
 
If you have already removed 1/2 the swirls with the white pad, why not just go another round with the 83 and the white LC pad ?.. Would you hurt ther paint with the Orange pad? No, but you might be required to follow up with the white pad again for the micro marring that the orange pad produced..
 
I second what Gary said...good advice.



The LC orange is a great pad for removing defects without inducing hazing. The down side is that it will not produce the gloss you want (dull gloss, not hazing).



You might be happy with just the white pad. :)
 
I've cared for the truck but the dealership didn't have a show room and it came to me with a lot of swirl marks, that only seem to have gotton worse.



I'm not so sure that going over it again with the White pad will remove the other 50% of the swirls. I had heard that the white pad was pretty gentle. The website says the green pad is more aggressive than the white, the lady on the phone said the white pad is more aggressive than the green. Who knows? I thought I'd try orange and get down to business. I just don't want to rub my clear coat away on a new truck. Maybe I should cancel my order and work it really hard with the white pad.

Which website? I wasn't aware that LC made an *official* green pad, even though they do for others.



The green pad that *I've* used is gentler than both LC white pads.



I just don't want to rub my clear coat away on a new truck. Maybe I should cancel my order and work it really hard with the white pad.

While its technically possible to polish through the c/c, its not as easy as you may imagine, providing your not on an edge. :)
