OptiSeal vs Aquawax

After much consideration, I think I have decided to order some Z-CS next month (for my b-day!) and forego the OS for now. With a 1,800 mile road trip (roundtrip) coming up in early June, I think that would be a good test of CS capabilities for me.

Looks about like my AW stash! lol :D

On a serious note...has anyone noticed that AW almost acts like a spray-on, walk away type of product? What I mean is, I was applying the AW last weekend to my car, and being very observant noticed that as I spread around the AW after a mist onto a panel, that it dried up and disappeared on its own! I didn't even need to do a final buff. I paid very close attention to this and tried it multiple times....after spreading around the film, I watched as it literally "melted" into the paint without a final buff. Just an observation I have made recently....I would still recommend a final wipe to avoid any possible streaking issues, but I was curious that if I let the AW film dry on its own, if that would increase durability slightly more. I'll have to watch that one....

Regards,

Mike :)

%100 agree, in fact I've mentioned it in multiple other threads but have always applied it on colors that could decently hide streaking. Used it this weekend on a black car and I could see that you don't really need to whipe off, I just do because the instructions say so...

OMG! How could you tell?

I can almost always tell AW. AW looks the same when you look straight at it, but when your looking at an angle the relections always looks smeary. The ZCS and OP-CS have much sharper reflections. As far as gloss they seem the same.

Reopening this old thread...based on Tiger Mike's post on the first page, I decided to apply AW just like I apply OS and CS. Had a clean cotton applicator, sprayed 1 shot of AW on it and began to work it into the paint. Sure enough, after wiping a bit, no pressure, it disappeared into the paint! Did not do a final buff. This morning, after curing, the look and feel was quite similar to the WOWA's! Hardness, slickness was there, NO STREAKS! Additionally, it was the thickest coat of AW I have yet seen. I have no idea what durability might be, but the whole car took about 10 minutes. Between AW and the WOWA's this may be a system that saves beaucoup time and effort, while yielding a slick, durable finish!
