Optimum QEW

...Optimum Equal Wash....

Looks like we will have to add "OEW" to the secret decoder ring! Actually, David should add all of the Optimum products, especially considering they are some of the best new products available.

I wonder if the name was chosen since the acronym is so close to QEW...

Well, it was said that QEW mixed in a spray bottle as a replacement for S&W didn't do all too well and my findings were the same. Now, if this new Optimum product can work equally well as both a rinseless wash and a good cleaning QD, that will really be :2thumbs:

I talked to David the other day and he said Anthony and Ron were really happy using it as a QD.

I have used several QD's and was never happy with them. The new Optimum is fantastic. I tested it a couple of weeks on a black car in the hot Texas sun. No film of streaks.

I have a gal. of RO water mixed with 7oz's. That should hold me over till next month.

Optimum will release a new Pro product for body shops this month. Some of the pros here may be interested. The main market will be for the body shops. Stay tuned for some Examples and pics. Maybe next week.

I'm interested to see how it compares to S&W. Sounds like a great product if it can be put in a spray bottle and used as a QD geared more towards slightly more soiled surfaces than most would care to tackle with a convention QD, and also mixed with water for a QEW type of wash.

QEW is so darn good, it's going to be hard to beat. I'm really diggin' the newcomers to our field.... namely Optimum and Jeff's Werkstatt. Keep em' comin'!

anyone know when Optimum Equal Wash will be available?

Around 2 weeks, I think. The name will probably change from Equal though.

I talked to my local Optimum distributor today (and bought a bottle of the new Hyper Compound) and he said the latest he has heard is the wash will be out in a couple of weeks.

I hope so since I am nearly out of the sample I got for testing. I'll definitely run out so it will be back to QEW with Long Haul's QD mixed in.

i will stick to Quality QD's and keep washing the traditional way. Besides many people are complaining about light scratches on their car. Besides my car never sees snow & the Optimum car wash is not that good also, it is just as bad as the clearkote's car wash soap.

This is completely different. Just like QEW, you wash according to the instructions, you won't get any scratches.

Why the Long Haul QD? Just cuz it's cheap?

OK Help me out here. I've never used QEW , but have alway's used S&W . Here is my routine. I go to the touchless carwash to get the majority of the crud off then come home and pull in my heated garage and use the PB S&W and wipe down with great result's even on my Black Z71 Tahoe.

I've really been getting into the Optimum Car Wax and would like to use the new Optimum QEW . It seem's very versitile and wonder if this product can be used like the PB S&W in a spray bottle. I've found S&W to be a superior product , but would like to use the new Optimum in the same way. Can this be done with this product ????

I am wondering the same thing. I love S/W for maintaining my black 350Z. If this new stuff is similar to QEW and S/W in the same product then it will be something I will definitely be looking at.

I use this as an addition to my washing step, as in I add a few drops to my wash bucket and Opt car shampoo. I find it adds slickness and in turn aids in the blow drying of the car.

I also use it as a quick detailer just as I would any other QD. I add 6 to 8 oz of Opt QEW to a gallon of water then pour it into a spray bottle. Using 4oz is too little, or at least for me personal likes but 6 to 8oz seems to work very nice.

I don't use a QD like many others do but rather I use it to remove residue, smudges, inbetween polishing and waxing. I rarely use a QD to remove daily accumulation of dust and grime.

FYI – spoke with David at Optimum today. Their new QEW (can’t recall the exact name he used) is being manufactured this week and will go on sale starting Monday.

Not positive but I believe the name will be No-rinse Wash. My hope is that my local Optimum distributor will have it next week, I am nearly out of regular QEW and don't want to buy more if I don't have to.

I agree . . . I’m in the same boat.

On a side note, big thank you to those of you (Scott and others) who recommended QEW. Despite my initial skepticism, I’m having a tough time going back to the hose.
