Optimum Products...which to get, and where from?

Hey guys and gals.

I have been detailing for about 6 years, but going semi-pro as of a few weeks ago. I have a sizable arsenal of products, mostly based around the Meguiar's and Menzerna lines and my FLEX.

I have read MANY good things about Optimum products on the board, but none of the suppliers I currently use really carry it.

Anyone know a great place to get these products CHEAP?

Also, what are the must have products?

My list so far includes:

ONR (Gallon)

Opti Polish (Going to try mixing it with M105 to reduce dusting+ inc work time)

???

Thanks!

Mark

I've always had great service from Danase!

P.S. If you have never used ONR your in for a treat. It's a great product!

It will be the first time for me, and yes I am quite intrigued and excited to see what this stuff is really about! :bounce

I just want to make sure I get all of the "must have" products while I'm at it :chuckle:

Must Haves:

Opt. Protectant...great on leather (coated or real); hard plastics; PERFECT Matte finish.

Opt. Polish...'nuff said. It works.

Opt. PoliSeal...best AIO I've ever used for clearcoats. Does GREAT for general touchups; has 1/2 the cut of OP; but also is a carnauba sealant combo. Lasts as long as most LSP's do (for the most part) and looks GREAT as well!

ONR is a standby and is great for washing; clay lube; and QD depending upon dilution.

Opt. Instant Detailer is awesome as well; just got some; love the dilutions and loooove the look!

Get it all here:

Scott will do you right... Specialty Motoring Products - Products for Well Loved Cars (has Opt. on Sale NOW!)

or Justin www.obsessivedetail.com

no mention of Opti Seal yet? I'll bring it up then :D

love the glassy gloss look, and of course the speed and ease of application makes it an ideal final step IMHO. The more I use this and UPGP the more I cant see myself ever going back to the traditional LSP's that require all that extra time and effort...to varying degrees of course ;)

My car is also self drying with a couple of layers on it even driving through the heaviest rain...

I get mine at autogeek as they carry many items and can grab several different varieties. I like the quick detailer the polyseal AIO, and tire protectant to.

get:

poliseal

car wax - spray carnuba wax that adds a lot to the look of the finish

optimum compound

ONR

OPP - but only if you like a look that looks like you never applied anything...I prefer a non greasy, slight shine look so the client knows something was applied. been asked a few times if I even applied anything to the doors while using OPP.

why you are at it, get some monterray waffle weave towels, and the titan polishing towels...simply amazing! get some grout sponges for the ONR as well!

Any preference between Hyper compound and normal compound?

For the time being I am working with a FLEX exclusively.

I've bought it direct from Optimum ( always only buy from mfg's) and even have the new & old formula of OCW . I never thought it was anything special at all , even compared the old/new OCW , and nothing special there either . I figure I wasted $100 on this stuff and has now become a door jamb and boot line to clean it up in the water. I don't use it on cars anymore.

I like OC better than hyper...hyper never really gave me the cut I was hoping for...megs 105 and menzerna PG both have more cut in my personal experience

and I use more megs 83 than I do OC, but thats just because OC takes SOOOOOOO long to break down, 83 is about 1/2 the work time for the similar results. I think that the OC leaves a BRIGHTER finish, while the 83 leaves a deeper, again, IME
