Optimum Polish/EX-P+ on a Satin Silver TSX

Sean

Nice work.

I'm glad to see some other people taking the time to work with the new Optimum Polish. You sound like you have it pretty much figured out.

I used the Optimum Interior protectant today on a Lexus. Wanted to test the claim that it had some cleaning properties. The seats, doors and dash were in good shape only light dust and soil on the handles and seats. It did every thing the label said it would do and it didn't leave it looking like a Glazed Doughnut.

Keep up the good work.

that looks great. I had problems using the OCP cause it didnt remove the webbing i was trying to get out. Even with a rotory and a cutting/polishing pad it did nothing. Oh well back to the drawing board.... I guess ill have to keep practicing with that polish. Although it did leave a very nice finish the only thing im trying to get it to do is remove webbing.

Jay-Optimum isn't super aggressive so you may need to go with something stronger then go back over the car with Optimum and a polishing pad.

yeah thats what i did, but im gonna mess with it some more and see what it can and cant do. Anthony was suggesting i try a wool pad but i didnt have one at the time.

Sean,

Very nice work:xyxthumbs

To answer some questions.....yes you can go straight to your sealer after using the Opt polish and a finishing pad (dark colors) and a polishing pad (light colors).

Sean.....I like the clean door jambs:D That's the first thing people see when they open up their doors.

Great job,

Anthony

Belive it or not but the polish left quite a nice finish on black with the cutting pad.

A little update on this thread. I just got word that the surface is still beading nicely. We are at about 4 months and I know the vehicle sits outside all day. He touches it up after washing weekly with 3M's Gloss Enhancer.

Looks like the EX-P+ is a keeper, especially that it made it through our terrible pollen season!

That's good to hear on EX-P+!

What process/product(s) do you use to clean the insulation under the hood? I've been using an APC mix (6:1) and wiping it down, but this doesnt always do the trick on liners that have years of nasty buildup.

This vehicle was rather new so I quick spray, mist APC, and spray again proved to work out followed by Hyper Dressing. Usually I will spray gently to dislodge the heavy stuff, then spray with APC, agitate with a gentle brush or sponge, then rinse, dry, and dress.

Excellent job, Sean. I am really liking Optimum too. Great polish, seems to cut almost as well as DACP but without the dust and it finishes off better. Works well with EX-P too.

:werd: I've had it on a customer's Chevy 2500HD for around 10-12 weeks now (sits outside 24/7 near a couple live oaks) and it is holding up very well. Slickness is off a bit but it beads like crazy and still looks excellent. The new version of EX w/carnabua also seems to hold up very well.

This is my car that Sean did...I will try to get some beading pics when it rains again.

I was planning on hitting it with NXT by hand sometime this month but it doesn't really seem to need it at all. The 3M gloss enhancer brings lots of slickness back after a washing too! Still feels smooth as ice!
