optimum car wax?

any one use this its a spray and they say it works just a s good a other waxes and last five monthes.
 
You are talking about Optimum Spray Wax. It does work really well and is very simple to use. Just spray on and wipe off.

If you are looking for easy to use with very good results on a properly prepped surface, OCW is a very good choice. If you are going for ultimate durability, you may be dissapointed.

How did you apply the OCW John? From the 17oz spray bottle?



The only times OCW ever streaked for me was 1) Too cold air temperature 2) Tried to apply it over another sealant and 3) Used it on a single stage paint.

Well this is my experience on Silver,

I used it for the first time two weeks ago. It looks in liquid form like Klasse SG and leaves a very bright and clear shine. I bought it to mix (50/50) with Werkstatt Carnauba Jett after a wash. I'll top it with 425 for the anit-static barrier. See how that goes this winter.



I haven't decided which I like better the Optimum Spray Wax or Duragloss Aqua Wax. Price might be the deciding factor me thinks. Both seem to get along well with 425. I guess if you are looking for a "like new paint" look Optimum is for you. If you are looking for "just detailed" look (just waxed) then the Aqua Wax is for you. Topped with 425 I think durability on both easily a month to month and a half. My car is parked outsided 24/7.

I bought the sample kit, so it was in a 4 oz. bottle I think. This was a couple of months ago, so temps were in the mid 80's low 90's. I have a clearcoat finish. I was applying it over Menzerna Acrylic Jacket.
 
i just bought some today and tryed it it works greateasyon easy off and paint feels so slick .i did it in the sun after i was done i went over the truck with speed glaze just to wipe off any streaks from the sun drying it to fast
 
It's very good. Some think that the Aquagloss equivalent lasts longer. I am starting to believe it based upon my on-going durability test on my DD.
 
I bought it about 6 months ago and just used it seriously for the first time this past weekend on a Khaki Jeep Liberty. I liked it so much that after I washed my car, instead of a QD, I reached for it. Beads very tight and looked as good as a layer of Natty's Blue on my Windsor Blue Passat.
 
I tried it once but didn't like it. When I sprayed it on the paint and then whiped it in, it seemed to leave dark spots where it was sprayed. I had to really whipe hard to clear things up. I'm trying to remember if I tried it on ss paint, I might have. So I think I will give it another try to be fair.
 
I think like many Acrylic Spritz's and some QD's w/ Carnauba, it works best in the shade or in "cool" sun (such as that found in Autumn). I found it leaving marks as well when used in harsh-june-like sun, which is why I had stopped using it for a while.

First, those 4oz sample bottles SUCK!! :werd: (Sorry David :nervous2: )



The sprayers just don't work for crap. I experienced the same thing when I tried to demo a 4oz bottle of OCW at the Car Care Expo....kinda embarassing but then I reached for a 17oz bottle and the trigger sprays it out in a fine mist which is ideal. If it spurts out, like gets big drops, then you may have some issues with smearing and such.



Also try it over freshly polished paint, with nothing on top but clean paint. You'll have, I'm sure, much nicer results.

I might do what you say, not sure at this time. Way too many other products I have to checkout. **** I bought some Collinite late last year or early this year (can't remember), but I sold the 476 (did not even try it), but I have a bottle of 845 to try real soon.

I am with you on that. I only use the full size stuff. I've never been fond of samples b.c they always seems to be the seconds of whatever it is, so companies decide to sample it out in a crappy container. :xyxthumbs
