I currently use DG #901 and absolutely love it. I'm running low on the product and thinking about either picking up another bottle or trying out Optimum Car Wash. Price wise they are almost identical so that is not the issue. Has anyone used both products? If so, which did you prefer? Are there any cons with using Optimum? I've been using DG for a couple of months now and wouldn't mind trying out a new shampoo. Any input would be appreciated.

I suggest trying Optimum to just try another soap.

Optimum is an above average sudser if you like suds even at 0.5 oz per gallon dilution. It has a very nice blueberry scent. It cleans well but have never felt it left much added shine which I liked. I have not used DG901 is quite some time.

I agree with Al completely!

Both are quality soaps and this will give you a chance to compare another manufactures offering allowing you to gauge the two on several key points.....

Do it! :bigups

Thanks for your input. I also see no harm in trying out Optimum. It will give me a chance to compare the two shampoos and either love another wash solution or assure me DG is still the one. They are both at a great price so I really can't lose. I can always dedicate Optimum to the wife's car if I don't like it and keep using DG on mine.

I prefer Optimum. It is a bit more lubricous and I feel it cleans safer and better. DG does add noticeable gloss where I never noticed much of a gloss enhancement from Optimum( which I prefer)

I have used both as well. They both are good soaps. As Jim noted I think the DG adds a little more gloss per wash if your after that. My only complaint about the Optimum is that it seemed a little hard to rinse off for me. I do prefer smell of the Optimum.

In my opinion one of the best and least talked about soaps is Meg's Hyperwash.

Thanks for your input. I'm curious, why would you not want a glossy finish?

I think 901 is a great soap, and yes it does leave a nice glossy finish. However, the cleaning power is not up to par with some of the other soaps out there. I'd like to give Hyperwash a try and see how it does after I run out of 901...

On my personal vehicles I like to keep the look of the current LSP without altering the look. On clients vehicles I usually do use a gloss enhancing shampoo. For those instances I like CG Citrus wash and gloss.

I bought hyper wash a few years back, still have it, where I have gone through 2 gallons of DG. Megs, to me anyway, stinks, doesn't clean nor rinse as well and drys the hell out of my hands.
