Opticoat 2.0

Hi guys, i've been a long time member around here but haven't been around for over a year. In reading the latest posting it looks like a lot of people are talking about Opticoat 2.0. How does this work and it something that you can apply wax over or is it just for the lazy people that don't like waxing? If you don't apply wax on top of it how is the depth of shine, etc? Thanks.

Single application should last years, if not the useful life of the paint. Personally, I think it looks terrific on its own, very wet and glossy. You can wax it but it won't bond to Opti-Coat so it won't last very long.

What I do know about products that require no training is that risk of malfunction is very high. Then it's hard as hell to get off and very time consuming. I for one used a product called "SHine On" and it had to be applied 9 times. I am an expert on the subject of hand applied clear coat products.

Fixed. Opticoat is what you want. amazing stuff, but while normal LSP products won't last as long on the surface, they will work. I'm at about a month durability with several products on top of my Opticoat and they are still holding up.

Dan, are you able to report what you're using over the OC and are pleased with? Thx.

DG105, BFWD, FK1000P and 476. I need to update my other thread with pix, but I think I'm past the one month mark, still noticeably different beading.

I use a quick detailer as a drying aide to make it pop a little more. Plus, ONR v3 leaves a nice finish on its own.

I personally love OC 2.0.
