opti-seal

been reading up on it. seems to be a great lsp. easy application. users, i would like your input.
Works as advertised.
Easy to use once you get the hang of applying it very thin. No real problem if you do apply it too thick, but it may streak some if you do. A MF wipe takes care of the streaks, but then it's not WOWA. :)
Applied thin, it definitely is WOWA.
It is so fast and so easy, you will almost feel guilty for not putting out more effort.
It is not at all expensive per use. I have used about 5 ounces of my 8 ounce bottle in two years.
Probably 20+ vehicle applications and two 20' boat applications.
Since I do my vehicles so often, I can't say for sure about durability, but it does seem to last the entire season on the boat.
The vehicles also get Duragloss Aqua Wax quite often and the boat probably got the AW every month.
The vehicles are daily drivers, but they are garaged each night. The boat was on a lift under a canopy so it was at least somewhat protected from the elements.
Some people top it, but I happen to like the look of it by itself. As with many products, it seems to look even better the day after application.

If you try it and don't like it, PM me and I might know where you could unload it. :D

I don't have any experience with OS, but I do use and like UPGP (Ultima's WOWA sealant). I was skeptical at first about the whole WOWA idea, but after using it, I'm very pleased with it. It is very easy to apply, looks great and lasts well too. I have heard similar reviews about the OS, so I'm sure you would be happy with it.

I really like OS. It is easy to use I use it on the paint, glass and wheels. I have used it on 4 cars 2 coats on one car and bottle barely looks like any is missing.

Yep, Charles cover it perfect, I still have my original bottle when it came out and it does work very well. It last on my ride for about 6 months and that's with 6 coats....:D

Don't ask why 6 coats..........

I have used it quite a bit and frankly I'm not thrilled with it. It does what it is supposed to, I guess, but the depth and sheen others discuss simply does not appear on our cars. Perhaps I had higher expectations than the product can produce but I find the results with Duragloss #105 exceed Opti Seal in every area.
DG is not a wipe on walk away but it slaps Opti Seal in the chops as far as results. Just my take, I have tried it for almost a year and been far less than impressed with the results. I'll soon offer it as a give away for shipping only.

I would most certainly be interested in that deal.
PM coming.

PM sent.
While I am interested, I wouldn't be at all upset if JK RUBICON ended up with it.
I still have some and he would probably like to try it.
Whatever works.

PM replied. It won't be immediate, I'm in the process of cutting the detailing arsenal down to a few silver bullets. Having company for spring break has slowed/stopped the process.

My findings and yes the 105 is not a WOWA , but the AW more then makes up for it when maint. and durability come into play.

Like many things, it isn't going to be the answer for everyone.
FWIW, Since the freebie from RTexasF didn't happen, I did purchase another bottle of the Opti-Seal from Troy.

What would you use to apply Opti-Seal with? Anything made of cloth/foam will soak up a lot of it and not put it on the paint. At least that's what most other wax's/sealants do.

In fairness to me I didn't stiff Charles on the Opti Seal. I dropped the plastic bottle onto the garage floor and it split wide open. The concrete does have a nice sheen in that area :D

Microfiber covered sponge worked best for me.

In fairness to you, I figured you either decided to keep it or gave it to someone locally.
My apologies for the way my post reads. It wasn't meant to be quite so confrontational.

The MF applicators work good as do the foam applicators.
This is my personal preference.

The applicator foam is pretty closed cell so it doesn't absorb much product and the gripper handle keeps me from flipping it across the garage.
FWIW, I have not noticed any great amount of "soaking up" with any of the applicators I have used with Opti-Seal.

Poli-Seal topped by Opti-Seal is my go to combo of late. It works well on the metallic colors of our two daily drivers.

I didn't take it that way Charles, simply didn't want others to think I promised something and didn't deliver......actually I didn't but it was due to being a Klutz, nothing else. I did PM you that it broke open and made quite the mess when you asked about it.
