Opti-Seal Users, Chime In

Many people apply Opti-Seal and then maintain/refresh it with various other products, but....
Since Opti-Seal is so easy to use, I'm tempted to just wipe on another coat of Opti-Seal when I get that urge to do something. It's every bit as easy, maybe even easier than a spray wax to use.
How often would be too often to apply Opti-Seal?
Monthly doesn't seem like it should be a problem, but how about weekly?

I have it. The product lasts for months. I use it every 2 months to be sure. Really good product.

Great product. I got it when it was released and put on 1 coat every 3-4 weeks, after i put 3 coats on when i got it. It beads great and last a good 4 months for me it this Sun here in Florida. Goes a long way too.

I usually use UPGP but the 12 minimum cure time before putting another layer is killing me as far as customer's cars. I ordered Opti-seal because I think I read it's a short ( 1 hour?) cure time and then you can add another layer.
True?
Also, does Opti-seal look/work as well as UPGP?

Opti-Seal can have a second application in about 15 to 20 minutes in most cases. An hour should be plenty.
Looks of a product can be very subjective and I have not used UPGP, but....
IMO, the Opti-Seal looks great and while some people top it with another product, I don't think it needs anything more.

Don't let the price per bottle scare you. The price per application is very reasonable. I think an ounce of product will do 5 to 10 cars, probably more.
Very impressive product.

I use another one-step sealant which works quite well. Wipe on, walk away.

I had a friend drop off some OS and was not as impressed with it. In fact, it left a bit of streaks no matter how little I applied. Had to take it off.

If the OS works for you guys, that's good!:yay

I'll stick to what I know works for me at least.

There are so many different sealants, it's hard to really try each one!

What I did like in the past was Poorboy's sealant, then top with Natty's after 24hrs, now that looked nice and deep.

Never tried the new NXT as I was not overwhelmed with first version after all the hype.

Since I have only used it on white, bright red, and dark red, I can't say what my results would be on black.
While I have read of some streaking problems with the Opti-Seal, (and Zaino CS as well), I have not experienced that. At least not that I can see. :)
I do use a foam pad and for lack of a better term, burnish it. In other words, I will go back over each section after the original wipe on. No more product, just wipe the foam pad over the original wiped on product.
A MF applicator was suggested to me and I tried it a couple of times and felt I had better luck with the foam pad.

The foam pad I use and much prefer is this one. The foam of the applicator portion of the pad is much more dense than most foam applicators. It doesn't seem to soak up a lot of product nor does it put a lot of product on the surface.
