Opti-Seal stained and I think ruined my tinted windows

On the drivers side. Apparently the wind must have caught the spray when I was doing the rear panel and I had the doors open as my wife was cleaning the door jambs. This was on Thursday, today I noticed all these little specs on my windows. I cleaned the outside, that wasnt it. I cleaned the inside, that wasnt it. So I look closer and the overspray of the Opti-Seal has stained if you will my tint so it looks like I have little specs of something now all over the two windows. Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas on if I can correct this problem and what I would do to correct it?

rut roh. I have opti seal and newly tinted windows. I think I've always had the doors close and windows up so i should be safe.



Any chance your tint installer gave you a lifetime warrenty? Mine did, so maybe you can just take it back and be like 'omg what are these spots, they were there one day, is the whole thing going to spot up?! please replace it.' :bow



anyways, can you take a picture of it?
 
I wouldn't panic. I have 5 year old tint that is still perfect and I have done "forbidden" things to the stuff. Why don't you think about what you might do if the spots were on the outside. Clay bar, solvents, etc. A fast wipe on/wipe off of almost any solvent - even acetone usually doesn't damage plastic. I would suggest that acetone is the least likely solvent that we might try, but the non-acetone nail polish removers would be worth a trial.

WHOA! Least aggressive approach is always the safest method. I would try some tint safe window cleaner like Stoners and see if that takes it off first.
 
Obviously I have tried a few things. PBs Spray and Wipe, MEgs QD, Stoners IG, Megs NXT glass cleaner, Castrol Degreaser diluted 5-1 and nothing has worked.



I do have lifetime warranty on the tint but it would be a major PITA to get it replaced. I wonder if I could try prep-sol, thoughts?
 
Im at my parents house due to my father having some complications due to his prostate removal but I should be home tonight when the wife picks me up. Will try those then and report back
