Opti-Coat 2.0

spring's almost here, I've decided to go ahead and have some fun putting products other than meguiars on it for a change. The color is "Emerald Green Metallic" (GM Paint Code 177B from 1998 for all you paint-nerds out there)

Heres a pic below with #20 topped with GC:

my question to all of you is this: What's the best combination of products for looks?? (Just keep in mind I do not want to purchase Souveran at this point and time.)

I recommend Klasse AIO then Klasse SG, then a carnauba topper. I highly suggest 5 layers of Klasse SG. If you like it keep it as is. If you want the carnauba look, use either OG Blitz of P21S wax (S100 is the same wax, $14.95, just different packaging.)

I would tend to prefer the Klasse AIO/SG followed by Pinnacle Souveran, P21 or Blitz. Of the 3 carnaubas, I'd pick the Souveran as my overall favorite. It's not as durable as Blitz though. Laters

Very interesting. I did not know that Optimum was offering this to the public. I guess they figure they need to keep up with the other companies like Aquartz, and the others.

Good to hear.

Yes, as soon as it is available, we will have it. The distributor usually holds it back from other retailers for a week or so.

Great! Thank you.

The other company is already selling it and says that it is the same durability/permanence, but easier to use and spread evenly. I look forward to seeing you carry it :Dancing Dot:

Are they still going to offer consumer and pro grade? If there isn't supposed to be a difference in performance I can't imagine that they would, but I'm wondering.

Yes they are. I talked with Dr. G yesterday to get more of the Pro version. They will still offer it for Pros who dont have the time to spend on the longer application. I personally am not that busy to where I need the time saved from the Pro version but I could see how that could make a difference to some.

The pro version is now Opti Guard and will soon have an interior twin and a warranty. The consumer Opti Coat 2.0 was unveiled for an event but all vendors can order first week of April. Neither takes longer to apply, but Opti Guard cures in minutes for pros who have to return vehicles same day. Opti Coat cures over a few hours so you have more time to even out thick areas before they harden and have to be repolished.

Thank you for the reply Chris, I appreciate it :)

I look forward to trying it out as soon as I can!

Bump! Do we have an ETA yet, Jack?

Connor, we just received our first shipment and will have it on the site today or tomorrow. If you want, you can call Angelo and order now. The sku number is OPT-OOC2011-20 and retails for $59.99. You can use your TID discount and get it for $53.99.

Comes in a syringe filled with 20ml if I remember from my order since release. Haven't had the chance to use it yet because I want to try and take care of some chips and scratches with the Dr. Colorchip paint repair system before application.

I was gonna put it on my WRX, but I noticed that dealership re-sprayed the bumpers, and did the absolute worst job possible. :(

Gonna wait until I get the hood and bumpers repainted and then we will see!
