So I bought the light block and have had nothing but trouble. It marred my wife's CX-9 and a test spot on a GTI. I tried it with ONR clay lube and other dilution ratios, even cutting the block in two (as I read from Detail Chick) and still did nothing and was skipping all over the place. After I did a panel, I went back over with Clay Magic blue and it removed a ton more. Both cars were light on contamination. Any other tips so I know I didn't waste my money? All their other products have worked well for me so I want to give it a fighting chance.

i used mine with dp wash & gloss rinseless as a clay lube with absolutely no problems and no marring. i do keep the surface wet while using it, do not bear down on it while using it and have zero problems. not sure why some are having problems. give optimum a call, maybe you got a bad batch or need to step it up to the heavier grade block.

I havent had any marring so far .Maybe your paint is unusually soft .
Its true its really only effective on light contaminants Ive found.
I think your suposed to break it in on glass, although I cant remember now.

Did you "break it in" on glass first?
Almost all of these clay alternatives need to be broken in on glass first. This helps to make them a little less aggressive so they don't mar paint.

This was my first thought. The Opti-Erasers need to be broken it well before they operate correctly.
